Mission: The epscor foundation is dedicated to the advancement of science and technology in the 27 epscor states, the commonwealth of puerto rico and the territory of the virgin islands by promoting the development of science and technology infrastructure in these jurisdictions and promoting the role of experimental program to stimulate competitive research (epscor) funded activities in the nation's science and technology enterprise. During 2012, the epscor foundation interacted with professional academic organizations and societies that represent higher education researchers including the association of public and land grant universities and the national academies of science. The foundation answered numerous inquiries from member and non-member states, congressional staff, agencies and the press. The epscor foundation met frequently with federal research managers of epscor-like programs and state higher education officials.
