I am a new volunteer and Essential Pregnancy Services has been very welcoming! They have been flexible with scheduling, and their training program has been great. The people at EPS are true to their values and treat everyone who walks through their doors with respect, dignity, and authentic and honest service!
I became a volunteer at EPS because I wanted to support women and their families. I’m so happy to be part of an organization which strives to meet women no judgement, no exceptions and no financial output for the women we assist.
We assist women with unexpected pregnancies with education, health and options. From initial contact until the baby is 18 months old with opportunities to improve their situations and support their children!
As a volunteer for 32 years with EPS, I was privileged to meet the most caring people, who were genuinely motivated to offer support and show compassion to our clients in need. Efforts were made to minister to the whole person, physically, emotionally and spiritually. The organization continues to change and adapt, as the needs of our clients have changed over the years.
It is wonderful to be able to help out young mothers who choose life for their babies! I enjoy working to keep the boutique looking nice and well-stocked with baby and toddler clothes for the young parents to choose from. I appreciate the mind-set of the staff to make things just as nice as they can for the babies and their moms!
Susie was great in orientation and writing a note to thank me before I even started there. However, the HUGE Orientation handbook needs to be tailored for each specific area. There is TOO much information we had to skim as it didn’t apply my area nor did I need to know about it. The staff is not very friendly when they are downstairs. Most don’t even say hello or acknowledge you. For what I am doing, I do what I see needs to be done. The boutique manager lets me do that. She is not super friendly or warm and often seems more preoccupied with what she’s doing. Another volunteer told me she doesn’t feel like she answers any questions she has...I.e. the volunteer dumped the trash since no one was. I wish they had music playing...it is too quiet and sterile.
