Causes: Congregate Meals, Food, Food Banks & Pantries, Meals on Wheels
Mission: The mission of Episcopal Community Services is to engage the community both in feeding the hungry and empowering the poor to move beyond the barriers of poverty with dignity.
Target demographics: feed the hungry and change lives
Geographic areas served: the greater Kansas City metro area
Programs: Kansas City Community Kitchen - serving nutritious hot meals daily, Monday through Friday, to anyone who comes. All diners are served "restaurant style" by volunteer waiters, giving choice and dignity. Culinary Cornerstones - a culinary arts vocational training for those working with referral partner agencies (FEC, Catholic Charities, etc.) Hunger Relief Network - network of food pantries and meal programs across the KC metro area, primarily in Episcopal churches but expanding to nonprofit and ecumenical partnerships
