I have observed the positive interaction between the clients and the Envision staff and volunteers for several weeks. The participants have a variety of mental illness diagnoses. All come from hurtful places in their young lives. I am amazed and impressed with how these clients were able to form a therapeutic alliance with the horse they chose so quickly! In regular therapy, it takes several sessions to build a relationship. The horses seem to sense just what the clients need. I learned that horses need relationships built on trust to survive, just like humans. The Envision Team is awesome, both equine and human. I highly recommend this organization and it's work.
Envision is an organization that has taken root in my heart and with every client encounter where there once was a sapling is now a new branch of connection. I've been a volunteer for Envision for 3 years. I love to make the magnificent oak tree comparison because you can find peaceful rest in the shade if you're a parent of a child in need of growth opportunities, knowing that that child will be well taken care of during their horse activity. Or if you start as a volunteer you may aspire to climb to the outer branches by transitioning into becoming certified for equine-assisted therapies.
As an organization, Envision keeps growing to reach more people. Clients are served by experiencing the support and guidance of a well seasoned and professional staff in areas of physical challenges and healing emotional wounds. The horses offer their natural desire for human connection and dedicate their therapeutic power in every encounter.
Envision is a great non-profit worthy of my time, energy and resources and I would like to encourage others to give from their abundance, you can make a donation from this site! Thank you for reading this review. May all of us try to create a little more 'heaven on earth'!
I have been a volunteer with Envision for about a year now. It has been truly amazing to me to watch firsthand the power and magic that can happen between human and horse. Horses don't see trauma, or disability, or flaws. They read us better than you realize and because of that, they bridge gaps and allow for healing in powerful ways. I love working with our clients and seeing the positive changes these amazing animals make in their lives. I have been enriched by the process as well. The staff at Envision are amazing individuals who are making a difference in so many lives and it's a powerful thing to be a part of. Another aspect I enjoy is taking care of these amazing animals. We ask so much of them daily when working with clients and it's nice to show them love and respect back for all the work they do. I encourage anyone who may be in need of these types of services to check into this organization. Or if you are looking to be a part of a group of amazing people and horses helping others, check out their volunteer opportunities. I promise you will be blessed in the process.
It takes a remarkable organization to welcome volunteers with a heart to help and transform them into a cohesive thriving team who can work effectively with the highly skilled and talented staff. It takes only moments to be with the team to recognize there is something uniquely marvelous that happens because they love what they do. The hours are long, the tasks endless and yet the attitude is so upbeat you would think the day just began, and in reality it's 3pm and still so much more of the day left. "Well done" doesn't begin to describe this organization. Love, compassion, empathy and skill are evident in everything they do. Thank you to this organization for being a blessing to so many.
Envision is a wonderful place where adults and children can escape from the stresses of their daily lives and get back in touch with who they really are. I have watched communication between family members improve through the use of therapeutic riding and team building activities. I have seen children with disabilities come out of their shells and engage with both the horses and the staff. I feel incredibly blessed to be able to volunteer with such an incredible organization that truly makes a difference in the lives of so many people. I know Envision Therapeutic Horsemanship has a bright future, as staff members and volunteers work tirelessly to expand the reach of this program, while still providing individualized care to every client.
As a volunteer I have been with envision for seven years now. But I was also a client of envision for two years. Due to the trauma I had experience, I started getting involved with the wrong group of people in eighth grade. I went into high school as a confused, angry and very insecure teenage girl. As if high school wasn't hard enough without adding anything in. I am became reclusive and later on suicidal.
I can honestly say without a doubt, I would not be here if the wonderful people at envision and the horses hadn't intervened in my life. I did equine assited life coaching for majority of my therapy. For those who have any doubts that horses can make this big of a impact, I'm telling you they can and they do.
I am very proud to be apart of what envision is doing and able to call them my family. I witness lives being changed everytime I work with clients, smiles that are priceless.
