Causes: Environment, Environmental Education, Land Resources Conservation
Mission: ECOSLO strives protect and enhance human health and the environment through education and community-based advocacy in SLO County.
Results: -Local coordinators for 30 beach cleanup sites on International Coastal Cleanup Day each September -Advocacy work throughout organization's existence. Most recently support of coastal access, Chumash Heritage National Marine Sanctuary, and protecting SLO county from further oil industry projects such as the proposed Phillips 66 rail-by-spur extension and the aquifer exemption in Arroyo Grande. -Partners with the City of San Luis Obispo for 20+ years to lead docent-led hikes on the City of SLO Open Spaces -Partners with the County of San Luis Obispo for trail/park projects and cleanups at SLO County Parks -First Recycling Center in San Luis Obispo County (1971 until ~1996)
