Mission: The purpose of the corporation is to engage in activities, including public education, research, lobbying, litigation, issue advocacy, and other communications and activities to promote pro-environment political ideas, policies and leaders. The foregoing purpose shall include educating the public about the records and positions of political candidates on environmental issues, and engaging in programs to support the election of pro-environment political candidates.
Programs: Researching & influencing public policy:staff engage in legislative activities including research, education, legal and policy development on the following issues:endangered species, climate change, energy policy, transportation, clean water, safe and sustainable ocean management, clean air, solid waste management, toxic substances and waste, taxes and fiscal policy, international trade and treaties.
public education and outreach:recruiting volunteers, distributing educational literature, and conducting surveys and discussing the following issues with the public:endangered species, climate change, energy policy, transportation, clean water, safe and sustainable ocean management, clean air, solid waste management, toxic substances and waste, taxes and fiscal policy, international trade and treaties.
