We have attempted to cancel our monthly donation for several months. We have tried multiple phone calls where we were assured that it would be cancelled. When that didn't work we cancelled the debit card associated with the account. When the transaction was denied due to the cancelled card, Environment California reached out to Visa, showed them the signed agreement my husband made when he originally set up the donation and got his new card number and processed the transaction. I can't believe that this is possible, that one isn't able to change their mind about a donation due to changes in financial well being or any other reason, it feels criminal.
My husband and I donate a small amount of money monthly and have for a number of years. We are giving what we can and without reservation. My peeve: they call at least five times a week! Tomorrow when they call it's going like this: stop calling us! We are doing what we can and you need to stop or I will stop the automatic withdrawal. I have had it with them. Rant done.

Door-to-door solicitor, very conscientious, sincere, recent college grad, seemed so honest and trustworthy, however, she presented material that said they are a 501c3 tax deductible organization, they are not. What their stated policy, mission, or work claims to be sound great, but if the organization is misrepresenting itself, that sends up red flags to me. After getting a call back from a representative in their Denver office (I made the donation in California for Environment CALIFORNIA, not Colorado), I was offered a refund which I expect to arrive in 2-4 weeks. I'm looking into the facts about Environment California and hope they are actually doing the right thing to help conserve our environment, protect our water, stop fracking etc. as they claim.

How are we going to effect change for the better if we are not politically involved? I have donated for a couple of years now with only one phone call from E. C. Inc. Everyone wants clean air & water but wanting doesn't make it happen. I was in Europe back in 1979 and everyone took their reusable bags shopping; no plastic bags! Why do we still have plastic bags?? Organizations like this tell the politicians we are serious which is the only way to accomplish anything constructive.
