Mission: The primary mission of energy services, inc. Is to provide limited income families with the services and assistance necessary to prevent and or alleviate energy-related emergencies from occurring, while promoting initiatives that result in a family's long-term self-sufficiency. The agency's secondary mission is to leverage other resources from public/private, labor, charitable foundations and other sources to offset the gap between growing unmet energy-related needs and declining federal funds.
Programs: Energy assistance programs provided assistance to 78,814 low-income families for utility and home heating costs for a total direct benefit of $39,794,391. This irs form 990 excludes $38,496,240 of state emergency energy assistance grants from the wisconsin home energy assistance program (wheap) that are administered by energy services, inc. These costs are excluded from the return as payments are made directly by the wisconsin department of administration.
