Enduring Hearts is an amazing organization. The non-profit was started by a transplant family with the desire to improve the outcomes and longevity of pediatric heart transplant patients. They are now focused on eliminating rejection by funding critical research that will lead to significantly better approaches to managing preventing rejection or the need for additional transplants. The entire team at Enduring Hearts have huge hearts. They empathize with every family who faces the challenges and loss that comes with heart transplant. I trust that the money we donate is being used to find the best ways to support families.
Enduring Hearts is a crucially important organization to furthering knowledge and outcomes for pediatric heart transplant recipients like my daughter. Before Enduring Hearts embarked on this mission, there was no focused research funding related to expanding knowledge around the various challenges facing "heart kids" in the months and years post-transplant. I am thankful for Enduring Hearts, and support their mission wholeheartedly.
My child survived heart failure and a life-saving transplant when he was 3 years old. When we learned that it was inevitable that he would one day have to go through all of that again, we were so discouraged until we were introduced to Enduring Hearts. Enduring Hearts is the only nonprofit focused on pediatric heart transplant research. It's our greatest hope, and I believe in its mission and the dedicated scientific advisory board and its leadership so much that I now serve on the board so that I can do all I can to further that mission and give my son and kids like him their best hope for a long, thriving life. Enduring Hearts provides community support to transplant families, advocacy and education, and funding, guidance, and partnership to the scientists and researchers who will solve transplant rejection.
I, like most people, did not know that when a child receives a heart transplant it is not a lifetime cure. As a parent myself, it is hard to fathom the worry, stress, and anguish that parents of a child who needs a heart transplant endure leading up to the child's first heart transplant. To think that the child, and the parents, will most likely need to go through that experience again is unimaginable.
Enduring Hearts is the leading nonprofit dedicated to funding research to increase the longevity of pediatric heart transplants, improve the quality of life for kids with heart transplants, and eradicating pediatric heart diseases that may lead to a heart transplant. Enduring Hearts is doing critical work in this space and I am proud to support this very important cause.
As parents to a 12 year old son with a 3 year old heart transplant, we are depending on the much needed research to give him the opportunity to a long, happy, healthy life. Enduring Hearts is working hard, and including the families affected in their fight for this research. They stay in constant contact with us, using our input, and raising the awareness and much needed funds to battle such an enormous monster we call rejection.
This is a highly focused, extremely well managed non-profit benefiting pediatric heart transplant recipients. Their mission is to fund research that improves quality of life for transplant recipients. This organization rally’s around a wonderful, important cause; a child’s well-being. My experience working with Enduring Hearts has been extraordinary and they really are dedicated to their mission. I highly recommend this organization!
Enduring Hearts is a facilitator of vital research for children with end-stage heart failure that need a transplant for a chance of survival.
I was told that Enduring Hearts is the only organization solely dedicated to funding pediatric heart transplant research to help save lives of children who are struggling today.
There are various ways (e.g. donation from private donors, corporations; auctioning bourbon, organizing road race etc..) Enduring Heart raise money for this noble cause. Major portion of the funds raised go to universities/hospitals for funding R&D in the areas of transplanted pediatric heart rejection and its prevention.
I, personally, know two of the Enduring Heart’s executives, and I also know how dedicated they are and how hard they work for the cause of EH. I spoke to them many times about their dreams and progress towards the goal that resulted in pediatric heart transplant leading to a better life for children.
We knew very little about CHDs until our granddaughter was diagnosed with HLHS before her birth in 2008. Information and hope were scarce at that time. We are so grateful to Enduring Hearts for the research funding, the support to families, and the information they provide about pediatric heart transplants and rejection. We wholeheartedly support their efforts to improve long term survival rates for these patients. It’s personal for our family. Thank you so much,
Claudia and Jim Funkhouser
We love Enduring Hearts - we have been involved from its early days in 2014-2015 timeframe and have watched the scope and impact of this organization grow so much in just a few short years. We were at the inaugural Bourbon Gala fundraiser in 2016 when it was still a small party and we were blown away at how much that event has grown and the impact it is making on raising funds for research. All through the growth of this charity, the board and leadership have kept true to their original mission to help save the lives of kids living with heart transplants. We're very impressed by Enduring Hearts.
Enduring Hearts is an exceptional organization which has been making great strides to advance the knowledge and science related to pediatric heart transplant longevity and outcomes.
Began working with this non profit recently and was so excited to hear about the innovative research that they are funding to save lives. They have an advisory team of scientific researchers that select cutting edge research so they can increase transplant longevity. Passionate group of volunteers who are dedicated to helping children live long happy lives!
Helps kids that have had the misfortune of needing a heart transplant to be able to live normal lives. Two thumbs up!
Amazing non-profit that carries minimal overhead and each dollar donated equals to more than a dollar going to the mission given unique, strategic partnerships and methodology in their approach! They always have engaging events that are fun and a great place to make new friends.
I have served as a board member of Enduring Hearts since April of 2015. Since I've joined the leadership of this organization, Enduring Hearts has consistently made progress toward its mission to aggressively drive and impact the scope and quality of research oriented toward pediatric transplantation and solid organ graft longevity. The momentum this organization has demonstrated in a few short years by way of fundraising, grant-making, and establishing critical partnerships with leading institutions within the transplantation community is indicative of the long-term success we intend to achieve.
I am inspired by the mission at hand, and excited about helping attain our goals!
Medical technology has reached the point where the extraordinary is considered commonplace. For that reason most people don't realize that a heart transplant is not a cure. Eventually each recipient will require another transplant. Enduring Hearts is dedicated to funding heart transplant research with a view toward prolonging the time in which a second transplant is required or, ultimately, eliminating the need altogether. I've watched a young, sick child wait in the hospital for a donor heart. I know that through the efforts of Enduring Hearts there's a chance that another transplant won't be necessary.
It's not often that you find a charity where 100% of your donation goes to the cause, but Enduring Hearts is one! The modest staff is made up of volunteers, and they have almost no overhead, so they are able to ensure that every dollar I donate will go toward research to help heart transplants last longer for pediatric patients like sweet Mya, the inspiration for the charity. Enduring Hearts is an amazing organization with a small volunteer staff doing very big things!
There are times when people you meet touch your lives. Some of them touch your hearts. "Enduring Hearts" has touched OUR hearts.
They have a sincere passion for their mission that affects all with whom they interact. We have had the pleasure of attending a variety of events and fundraisers with their members, and they are outstanding. Focused and committed, they complete one event, and immediately move to their next endeavor, with the sole purpose of continuing the research that drives them forward.
One particular fundraising race was not only supported by runners who participated in the rain, which says a lot, but was also attended by quite a few children, who were included in passing out individual prizes to the top finishers. Everyone loved it. To involve children like that in the event ... most impressive!
It is our honor to know members of the Enduring Hearts organization, to donate to their cause, and see the results of their efforts in sweet children like Maya, who thrive from this wonderful non profit's love and dedication!
Well-organized, well-respected, and well-loved - that is "Enduring Hearts!"
My son is a single ventricle patient at Sibley. We pray he never needs a heart transplant, but are glad there are organizations that are researching how to help the transplant patients get more "life" from one donor. And....how awesome is it to see your son's cardiologist at a 5k!
