Causes: Women, Womens Studies
Mission: Endow is a catholic women's organization that engages the intellect of women and teenage girls to help them understand their god-given dignity and respond to our culture's desperate need for an authentic feminine presence to transform every aspect of life and society.
Programs: Women's study groups: when women grow in an understanding of the teaching of the church, and in the truth of jesus christ, their faith becomes more fully defined, and so does their transforming influence on the family, the community, and society as a whole. Through endow's women's study groups, women have the opportunity to connect in faith and friendship with other women through a group experience with a trained volunteer facilitator. They explore the topic with a study guide that thoughtfully combines catholic teaching, church history, and sacred scripture to enrich their everyday lives and spiritual journey. During 2014, 6,095 women participated in small group studies; endow trained and/or supported 448 volunteer facilitators. (see schedule o)young women's study groups and retreats: endow young women's study groups focus on dignity, authentic love, girl genius, self-esteem, today's media and culture, current pressures and temptations, and the call to live out one's unique mission. Endow helps young women learn to apply the church's teaching to their daily lives. They reflect on their development and character formation, as well as examine relationships with peers and the opposite sex. In 2014, 914 young women participated in endow programs. Study guide development: updates were made to improve our on the dignity and vocation of women (mulieris dignitatem) study guide, and edits were started to publish our newest study guide, setting the world ablaze: saint catherine of siena. Outreach: endow also reaches out to women who may otherwise not be able to attend our study groups either due to personal circumstances or life situations. As such, endow has developed a letter to women outreach study. In 2012 we began outreach to women in homeless shelters, homes for unwed mothers, jails, and prisons. Our initial "pilot" studies proved very successful, and we have officially began taking our program to those in need.
