I’ve been involved with ENF for 2+ years now, with about 10 months of serving on the external committee and it has been nothing short of an amazing experience. The mission is outstanding, the staff is superb, and it’s an organization that I want to continue to help grow and serve those in need.

I recommend this organization to anyone out there. 11/10 stars and hope more people can join our call to action to ensure no child misses a doctors due to a lack of transportation.

It is remarkable to be a part of an organization that works day in and day out to ensure children with cancer have the transportation and support they need to make life just a little safer and easier. Bravo and keep up the good work!

The Emilio Nares Foundation is near and dear to my heart. I've been serving on the Board for nearly four years and they ENF team continues to amaze me. They have been able to continue to provide free transportation to children with cancer in San Diego, Imperial, and Orange Counites throughout the pandemic. This year ENF started to provide rides in LA County which is amazing for that community. This is an organization that goes above and beyond to serve the community!

It has been incredibly exciting getting to know Emilio Nares Foundation this year. Having volunteered for them a few times and working with the team I've discovered just how much heart and love goes into everything they do. And they have such a small team considering what they accomplish. The most heartwarming of course is when you get to see the kids they are helping and offer them just a little bit of kindness in their day of battle.

This organization was started out of the goodness of the heart by strong parents who have found a way to build a team around them who embodies their spirit of giving and caring. They remind me so much of the little engine that can, going up the hill along with the kids!

Go on a ride-along, shop with the kids for items they need or get the team together to build snack bags and you'll see just what I mean!

ENF is a story of heroes. There is few things more horrifying for a parent than a Cancer diagnosis for your child. This is amplified when your resources are constrained. In addition to the flagship "Ride with Emilio" program that ensures that NO child misses their treatments do to a lack of clean and safe transportation; ENF also provides resource centers to help with the mountains of paperwork that is required. other overlooked projects like the knitting program provide for a place for peer-based networking so that these mothers do not need to walk this road alone.

In summary, the heroes that are staff with ENF spend their days trying to find ways to ease the burden that these families face. ENF is focused on helping parents on that journey with their child's Cancer until the day that this horrible disease is eliminated entirely!

The ENF team continues to support the families DESPITE the COVID challenges. Helping these kids and their families deal with the journey that their Cancer diagnosis has demanded provides some much-needed financial and stress relief. While the transportation is, of course, incredibly valuable - the love and compassion that comes with it is particularly comforting!

I wholeheartedly recommend and support the Emilio Nares Foundation. Their work is a testament to the power of compassion, community, and the incredible impact that a dedicated group of individuals can have on the lives of those in need. They are not just a foundation but more importanly, they are a catalyst for change. Through their programs, they are actively changing the lives of children and families facing the challenges of pediatric cancer, bringing hope, comfort, and a sense of community. The transportation services they provide to ensure children can access their life-saving medical treatments are nothing short of a lifeline. I have seen first hand the emotional and social support they offer as well and it's beyond invaluable. Keep up the great work!

There is no better nonprofit to work with than ENF. I've been involved with ENF for the past few years and the amount they serve the community is something that I've not seen. Whether it's the transportation to treatments, snack bags for after-treatment nourishment, and even some before-school and holiday shopping events ENF provides an unmatched holistic approach to caring for these families in their most trying times.

ENF is an amazing organization that helps children with cancer. It never crossed my mind that children with cancer might not have a ride to their cancer treatments. ENF has a goal of supporting children and their families to meet basic needs that they're unable to. You can really see this within each person that works for, or volunteers for ENF. I've been fortunate enough to be involved with ENF since around 2008 and have met the most amazing groups of people in my life.

While ENF is amazing at their public events, my favorite experiences have come when seeing the ENF team at the hospital with the children and families. Through those hard times for families, ENF is there. Whether it's through creating support circles for families, hosting toy drives during the holidays at the hospital, or providing snack bags - these things make such a positive impact. I highly suggest people take a van ride along, or hospital visit with ENF to see them with the families.

I was introduced to Emilio Nares Foundation over five years ago via an invitation to their annual fundraising event; Harvest for Hope.

In addition to providing transportation and other essential services to kids with cancer (and other critical illnesses) and their families, ENF is deliberate in how they extend to its patients much-needed encouragement, resources, support, compassion and most importantly, hope.

I’ve volunteered for many community organizations over the last 30 years and this one, hands-down, does the absolute best job of fulfilling its goals, working cohesively as a team, and ensuring the needs of its patients are met.

As the manager of the pediatric oncology unit, I have worked closely with ENF for many years . They have partnered with us to provide transportation for our patients and families to eliminate missed chemotherapy / treatment appointments due to lack of transportation. They developed loving tabs t-shirts for our brave little patients for easy access to central lines. ENF also provides a resource center for our families , providing computers, legal aide, assistance with completing forms for FMLA for parents, financial support for utilities , financial support for funeral expenses and many other services, too many to name. Prior to covid they offered many supportive groups including an incredible knitting and sewing group which not only taught this art but also provided mothers and patients a hobby to do during long days, weeks or months while hospitalized. Any needs families have, the ENF team makes every effort to help. They are an incredible foundation and an integral part of our team. We could not provide the excellent care we do without their partnership . They are a Great Non profit and we are all blessed to work along side them. They are truly deserving of this award.

The Emilio Nares Foundation is an amazing organization helping low income families navigate their child’s journey with cancer. After hearing Richard Nares speak once about his son Emilio and the organization founded in his name,I knew I had to get involved. ENF programs range from transportation to and from cancer treatment appointments, to healthy snacks for inpatient children, providing shirts to make getting chemo more comfortable and when needed, bereavement assistance. ENF saves lives and provides so much support, financial and emotion to their families along the way. Hearing their stories and meeting the families has been both rewarding and life changing. I am so thankful to have been able to support this organization throughout the years.

I am so very thankful that this type of nonprofit exists. It is difficult on it's own to raise children. But having a child with cancer is devastating. Many families must still raise and keep a (somewhat) normal life for their other children and cope with having a sick child as well.

Emilio Nares Foundation simply helps in anyway they can to ease the daily life of having a sick child.

I donate and adopt families within this foundation so I can help where i can.

My life experience with Cancer, treatments, Doctors, Nurses, and a whole medical world shadows any and all aspects of any-thing Cancer related as it does with any Patron of the Emilio Nares Foundation. However a huge difference in the two worlds is that my experience is one as an adult caregiver while Parts of the time I played the Patient role consumed with Cancer. At least as an adult in general my day to day life isn’t so scary since I’ve been exposed to this “Treatment” lifestyle in my past. With that said contributing to easing the stress for some of the bumps in the road due to the nature of treating cancer for these young Patients and their families makes me feel hopeful that my meager contribution will make their stress a little bit bearable. God Bless the staff of the Emilio Nares Foundation for their continued involvement with Cancer Patients and their families and God be with the children when they need it the most.

I have known the Co-Founders, Diane and Richard Nares, for over 30 years and it was my honor to know and love their son, Emilio. Their long and courageous fight for Emilio ended tragically, yet they have spent years giving his life dignity and purpose by founding ENF. Emilio’s name is spoken hundreds of times a day and his beautiful legacy lives on in the Emilio Nares Foundation. ENF has a unique awareness of the extensive needs of families and is committed to providing many supportive services to help navigate their entire journey. When families are at the end of their noble battle and face the most vulnerable time, ENF provides a Bereavement services. Our flagship program, "A Ride with Emilio,” guarantees NO child will be forced to miss treatment because of transportation needs in San Diego County and has been recently expanded to service Los Angeles, Riverside and Imperial counties. The Emilio Nares Foundation (ENF) navigates families through their child's journey with cancer. While the organization is most known for their transportation services that provide free rides to and from hospital appointments, check-ups, and doctor's meetings, ENF's support of these families goes way beyond that.

ENF is there for these families through their entire journey. The day they get that dreadful diagnosis, ENF is there to help translate medical records and serves as a column of support for the families to lean on. ENF provides snack bags so the kids can get a nutrition meal after 24 hours of fasting before a treatment. ENF is there to help with unexpected changes in the familes life -providing rent money when the family can no longer afford it, furniture when the family is without, and bereavement services if the child's journey ends tragically.

ENF is an foundation of hope for over 200 families who would otherwise be without.
