Causes: Children & Youth, Youth Development - Citizenship
Geographic areas served: Emerge is a not-for-profit 501 (c)3 dedicated to developing Charlotte's youth into confident, mindful, and compassionate leaders of the future. Our focus is to teach students self-defense both in life and on the training floor by teaching them life-skills, like conflict resolution, and develop the tools needed to prepare for the challenges they may face in their schools and community. We aim to propel these young lives into the future by providing a world-class environment where our students build social capital with mentors, peers, and community leaders. Our students will work together and develop leadership skills through their actions in the community, school, and home. No matter their socioeconomic status, Charlotte's youth deserve every opportunity to succeed and reach their full potential. Emerge will be instrumental in transforming our student’s lives, providing a hand-up that may be needed.
