Two young people heeded God's call and vision to form a ministry designed to serve children in foster, adoptive, and kinship care, a ministry that they started in their home, just the two of them. Embrace Texas now serves these children, as well as foster and adoptive parents, in Collin County with a small staff who are as passionately dedicated to this ministry as the two originators with multiple avenues of help-related activities and platforms. How do I know this? I watched this ministry grow; I witnessed God's hand in opening doors; as a CASA, I have sought and received help for my CASA kids and families; and now I am privileged to serve on their Board of Directors. Embrace Texas, as a nonprofit entity, works on a bare-bones budget with their staff serving in multiple positions and working crazy, long hours to serve the kids and families who truly need and benefit from them.
As a foster mom I love this nonprofit so much! They have monthly support groups for moms and an annual retreat which is so awesome! They are amazing and so helpful to us as a foster and adoptive family.
Embrace is such a huge support for my family. They understand the needs of our family built through foster care and adoption.
Embrace is an amazing organization that has been a blessing to hundreds of children and families. Their support of foster and adoptive parents is like no other. I am so thankful that I found them several years ago and I recommend to all my friends who have fostered/adopted (or are interested in doing so).
Embrace is a fantastic organization I was introduced to by other foster mom friends from my new church. The resources and encouragement that are provided are such a blessing, and being able to have other moms in similar life stages or that can help walk through the stages together are such a Godsend.
In June 2017, I attended an info meeting and paper match adoption event hosted by Embrace in Frisco, which opened my heart to adding a second child to my small family of 3. In June 2018, after licensing and being approved to adopt from foster care, I attended my second paper match event through Embrace where my husband and I felt drawn to a 16 year old looking for her forever family. That match didn’t work out for us, but the experience further opened our hearts to teens. Through Embrace, I joined a support group for foster and adoptive moms that helped me navigate the rest of my journey and keep searching. Without Embrace and the connections I made, I doubt we would have met our 14 year old daughter in July 2019, who has become the best big sister to our 10 year old bio son & completed our family in ways we could not have imagined. Thank you, Embrace!
We came along side Embrace in 2008 and have been amazed and blessed to see this organization blossom. Embrace does an exceptional job of connecting with children and the adoptive and foster families to meet both their practical and support needs. Beyond this, Embrace helps churches establish their own foster and adoptive care ministries, reclaiming the care of social orphans in our communities. The Embrace team is viewed by the State of Texas as such a great partner, that regional CPS offices have actually contacted Embrace for assistance with specific needs.
What a tremendous advocate for children!
Embrace provides wonderful wrap-around care for families at all stages of fostering and adoption. Furthermore, they have various recruitment, informational and social opportunities for the foster and adoptive community. I am grateful for the work they are doing to provide a loving, stable home for EVERY child.
I continue to be very grateful for the many ways that Embrace advocates for foster/at-risk children, how they support foster/adoptive families and how they bring churches together to serve the foster community!
Embrace inspired my husband and I to begin our journey as foster parents and supported us throughout our journey and the adoption of our girls. They do so much in the community!
Embrace is such an amazing organization! They work with families that are fostering/adopting in ways that really matter and make a difference. One of my favorite things about Embrace is how they devote time, energy and money into kids aging out of foster care. As they transition into life as an adult, they help lessen the burden. The staff is always happy to help and genuinely love what they do.
Embrace has been a wonderful resource in our foster/adopt journey. They do so much good for the community and I love volunteering with them whenever I can.
Embrace Texas is full of people who are doing so much more than "going through the motions" of serving others. They are living examples and in the trenches with those they serve. They use their personal experiences to educate and empower others to serve foster children in a multitude of ways. Their programs are wide ranging - recruiting new foster families, supporting current foster parents, equipping/empowering 18 yr old foster kids who age out of the system, services for parents at risk of losing custody, training groups across communities to provide various services...and acting as key players in legislation related to all these aspects. I've worked for/with non profit organizations for 20+ years and I'm not sure I have ever witnessed the level of commitment or breadth of outreach you see with Embrace Texas.
Embrace has been such an invaluable gift to our family! The resources they have pointed us to and provided have helped us on our families foster/adoption journey. The community we’ve gained through participating with them has also been wonderful and life-giving!
Embrace Texas as been an invaluable resource in helping to get our churches foster/adoption ministry running. They offer great ways to get your church body involved in helping foster families and kids in our area.
Embrace Texas is an incredible organization that has supported my family and engaged churches for years ensuring we are supported and have access to resources to care for vulnerable children and families.
Volunteering with and through Embrace Texas has truly been a joy and blessing. I love that they care about educating people, not just finding "hands" to do the work. They have a real heart for these kids and families, witnessed in the way they live their own lives.
I have been a part of several different programs (creating weighted blankets, volunteering at the HS Graduation party, etc) that directly and indirectly support foster children and families, and have thoroughly enjoyed each event. These precious kids don't deserve the hand they've been dealt, yet they are still hopeful. Part of that hope comes from having positive, supportive, encouraging adults in their life that they engage with and I'm grateful to have the opportunity to be one of those through Embrace!
