Mission: The Elizabeth Lulu Scholarship Foundation ,founded in 2006, came about after it's namesake, Elizabeth, passed away from complications from cystic fibrosis at age 13. Elizabeth had always dreamt of attending college. The foundation grew out of the realization that teens with CF, the number one genetic killer of kids in this country, often "give up" in school, figuring that the disease will end their lives before they can become adults and experience full, rich lives. The ELSF awards money to teens still in high school, before they give up, as an incentive to keep going. Elizabeth never gave up and never let her disease define her life, as no one should. Our goal is to provide incentive for these teens to press on and achieve long term goals in spite of this disease.
