I have lived in Lakeside since 1990. Throughout the past 30 years I have witnessed the profound impact that the all volunteer El Capitan Stadium Association has had on our schools; by their donation of funds for school gardens, water bottle fillers, internet access, computers, books, playground equipment, and financial support for teachers classroom equipment. I know that the sports uniforms at El Capitan High School, the sports equipment for most of the teams, the actual football field (and its returfing), the swimming pool and the timer board, the Ag department, and the theater arts have all received financial support from the El Capitan Stadium Association. Frankly, every child who has attended a Lakeside school in the past 20 tears has been impacted by that non profit. When the state of California cut funding for the arts, the nonprofit stepped in and saved band, dance, theater. Lakeside has been very lucky to have a group of people and a community who work together so our kids get access to a solid education and healthy activities.
