Such a wonderful team, we could not do this work without each and every member of the Board. Counting on communityto to guide our work depending on the team to remain strong. The best support starts with educating people, with lived experience. The boardmembers understood the assignment and strives to bring positive experiences.
I meant the Founder of Essential Now during
Capital Area Food Bank Client Leadership council
2023-2024 year sessions .I listen to how active she is in the community and the many good suggestions she shared to the other community participants.
A friend of mine who is going blind, call me and said she had no food. Because I too am a senior citizen. I could not shop for her or pick up food for her that day.
I called The founder of Essential Now then asked her if she could help me with the situation with my friend.
The founder of Essential Now Successfully had food delivered to her the same day.
Her actions and her organization has a review from me that is more than five stars‼️

begin out of a need to assist residents with critical medical needs , social determinants that may lead to displacement and the non-profit is fast on there feet to locate resources in the state of Maryland to address disparities. In 2019, the nonprofit made a bold jump to connect residents with food insecurites to healthy safe and free produce.
I’ve been working with essential now for two years. They’ve helped me with tons of resources and and Miss Miller helped me find an apartment with HOC. I really believe working with essential now would be the best thing for anyone in need because they provide you with security and support so you never have to feel like you’re doing it alone. i’ve gotten new household items, food baby clothes and much more from just working with this program. It’s very beneficial and I’m still working with the program! Thank you guys so much!
I was in a bad living situation and did not know how to get out of it or where to go next. I contacted Essential Now after receiving a crisis call listing from the Health and Human Services Department. She encouraged me to move into a women’s shelter. I was scared because I had never been homeless before. I was able to sleep better in the homeless shelter because I was not in fear of being gassed or smoked out. I quickly wrote letters to the senator, health dept. ect. Whenever I felt like my rights were being ignored or that the shelter was jeopardizing my health.
Mrs. Miller called to check on me frequently and always returned my phone calls if she missed my calls. This was one of the scariest, and unstable times of my life. I did not receive any housing after six months of living in a shelter. Being homeless helped me to rely on Jehovah God even more so. In 1996, I had a heart transplant along with my fourth stroke. During my stay in the shelter in 2024, I had no dental coverage and had the same tooth infection twice. My Heart Transplant Nurses were in fear of the tooth infection poisoning my blood. The infection from the tooth could have killed me. The shelter had a mobile dentist truck which gave me a basis cleaning of my teeth, and a root canal on the infected tooth. The mobile dentist saved my life, twice. I finally took the time to get psychotherapy. I had been putting off the Psychotherapy because I did not have time to travel back and forth to a doctor’s office every week. Now, I feel like I have slowed down to start healing from the inside out. In the past, my busy schedule evolved around church and making money. Currently, I have my Psychotherapy session via zoom. My main reason for being at the shelter was because I lost all forms of income within six weeks in 2023. I also found the classes I needed to complete my reinvention of myself financially. My trick will be preparing taxes, my trade will be Bookkeeping, and my job can be Human Resources, Payroll and Benefits. I can then let go of SSDI. I was holding on to SSDI because I needed the Medicare for my medication and doctor’s visits. My health has stabilized since 1996. To my surprise the classes did not cost anything. Even though I never received housing while here at the shelter, being here helped me reinvent myself financially, deal with past issued psychologically, and medically address deadly dental problems. Jehovah led me where I needed to be. Thank you, EssentialNow for helping me get out of a dead-end situation.

I meet the president of Educational sustainability mobilization, Eneshal Miller who has become a good friend . I became a member of her non-profit nearly two years ago. She’s very resourceful, helpful and willing to assist in time of need. The nonprofit is essential to our community. I’m grateful for becoming a member and meeting Mrs. Miller.
I'm a resident in Silver Spring, MD. Since 2019 the Nonprofit has assisted me with continuing education enrollment, volunteering in the field, and outreach skills I never knew I had. We participated with EssentialNow Point In Time Count in Montgomery County, MD. I have benefited directly with training supports, and referrals. I designed my first community garden, and I was given opportunities that help contribute to my resume and new experiences in the development of landscaping. Thanks to everyone at Educational Sustainability Mobilization.
