Eden Ministries is an inspiring mission in Doma, Zimbabwe. I have visited Eden twice and both times my experience was life changing. The work God is doing through the missionaries at Eden is amazing. I met a young girl living at Eden on my first trip in 2007. I came home and kept thinking of her...my husband and I decided to become child sponsors. What a blessing that has been and continues to be for us. We traveled back to Eden this past summer and met our child. Oh what a joy that was! She is lovely and has matured and grown into beautiful young lady. Sponsoring a child has been the most incredible experience for us....we have received so many blessings from our child. Sometimes we think we are ones doing the blessing by being a child sponsor but....in reality we are blessed by our child for allowing us to become a part of their life. Please take time to learn about Eden Ministries.... Myra and Jeff Wells
My husband and I recently returned from Eden Children’s Village. What a blessing to us! The Fry’s run this ministry with such care and integrity. We were amazed by getting to see all the parts of the ministry and how they work together to bless the local people. We were especially touched by our visit to the orphanages. They truly love the people of this area and freely share the message of Christ in all they do.
We have supported Eden Village for at least 10 years and they do great job with the orphanage, medical clinic, school, and their farming. This is one of the best ran organizations that we support at our church. Their vision for the future is right on point and everything they do is done with integrity.
My wife and I just spent two weeks with Eden children’s village. we were amazed by our experience of what they do. The compassion in the heart that is given to the community and especially to the orphanage children is amazing. They do so with the upmost integrity. I have been to several mission organizations around the world and supported so many different ones as a lead pastor of a church, but Eden is at the very top of my list, in terms of impact and heart and integrity.
Eden Ministries - My husband James and I know about Eden Ministries. Kevin and Susan Fry own a home next door to us and they stay there for a few weeks to a few months every year. Their son Ian and daughter-in-law Heidi are not completely unknown to us, nor is Tito one of their students from Wingate College here in NC.
Kevin and Susan aren't the spring chickens they once were and I'd harbored a hope that they'd be here longer this year or at least come back sooner, but this was not to be. No. Kevin was off doing a new building for the orphanage they were asked to take over, and he had some building projects at Eden that needed to be done. I follow them online and learned they'd dug a well, too. And all that is within the last 12 months!
These lovely folks and Eden are responsible for feeding about 800 people and they've raised several children to adulthood. Several of their students are in several, yes, several countries studying . They're in college. These young men and women probably wouldn't have survived childhood without Eden.
The situation in Africa is always volatile, A couple of years ago the elder Frys were here in the states, they learned that a box of cereal cost $28.00, that's twenty eight dollars. Inflation was high and going higher and they were anxious to get back and put up as much as possible from the farm. Let me tell you, I am NOT hightailing it to a country where a box of cereal, of one was to be found was $28.00 - but that's what they did and that's what they do. I just checked the numbers on their website and they have treated 32,000 people at the clinic. I am shaking my head. These numbers are staggering. I have seen their students on holiday here in my community, they set up an outdoor kitchen at a neighbor's and he was fascinated with the ability they had to cook over an open fire.
I literally can't say enough about the work they're doing in Africa and the work they're doing here in the states. They are Amazing and say ALL of the glory goes to God. Maybe so, maybe God gets the glory, but they've put some gumption behind it and what they've been able to accomplish is a pure miracle.

My husband and I went to Eden and fell in love. The staff, community, children, & atmosphere are incredible. They have everything organized and have thought through everything. The children receive an amazing education, a number of opportunities, & love! We went to serve and love but ended up learning so much about ourselves. It’s an incredible ministry and we are so thankful for our trip & time there.
The reason we support children through them is because of the open and transparent way they conduct their ministry.
I don't know where to start but you guys are doing a great job. I I have never seen such love. You are changing lives through reaching out to disadvantaged children and families. God bless you and continue the good work.
Eden lives up to its name. It's such a blessing to have worked under Eden in Doma. Their love towards the children under their care is God-led, you do not find such overwhelming love for vu
lnerable children especially in these difficult times. The Children's needs come first and they strive to give them a better future. I salute you Eden!
Volunteering at ECV was a life changing for me. I have now returned with others so that they too can experience all that the Lord is doing there
Our family spent almost 2 years volunteering at Eden Children’s Village. We loved the wholistic approach to running the Children’s home - school, farm, clinic and most importantly, loving “family-style” homes that the kids live in, rather than dormitory style accommodations. Every dollar sent to Eden is used in one of those 4 areas and has an impact on the kids’ lives. We love Eden and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend getting involved with them in any way!
We've supported this charity since it started about 20 years ago. We've been there several times and have provided support for their kids, farming program, school, and medical clinic. As a professional in the agricultural field and through our family's nonprofit charity, I have visited many projects in other countries but this is our favorite one to support. We consider the US founders and the Zimbabwean Nurse, Farm Manager, and School Administrator close personal friends and we have the utmost respect for them and what they do.
Eden ministries goes well beyond taking care of the immediate physical needs of orphans - the children are truly being equipped for life, both spiritually and with marketable skills that will help them provide for themselves as adults and to become productive citizens in an impoverished nation. They reach out to an entire community beyond their gates also. We know without a doubt that the $ we donate are being not being wasted or misused. What a beautiful ministry!
I sponsor a child through Eden Ministries as well as two other child sponsorship programs, and I find this ministry to be one of the best programs there is. Eden Ministries is very transparent about their needs, their work in ministry, and their goals. If you’re looking for a way to make a positive difference in the lives of Zimbabweans, this is the ministry to choose.
Eden Ministries takes in children that have been abandoned and raises them in loving foster families while also making sure that the children know that God has a special plan for their lives, that God loves them, and that they are not alone. Eden Ministries reflects the love that God has for His people, and I am so happy to be a part of their ministry through the child sponsorship program.
Eden Ministries also has a farm, a school, and a vocational program for adults all in order to serve the people of Zimbabwe as well as share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with them.
Eden Ministries is a great nonprofit because they deeply care about the people they serve all for God’s glory and the advancement of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Eden ministries is a great nonprofit to help because they are spreading the gospel throughout Zimbabwe. Eden ministries has helped many families and children through foster care and child sponsorship, and they have created vocational classes that teach people how to make their work sustain them. This nonprofit is one that I would recommend for anyone to help because it is impacting families and children generation after generation. I personally sponsor one of the children, and I am well pleased to see that my sponsor child is getting an education, food, clothing, shelter, and health check ups. For example, recently my sponsor child has received a dental check up to fix cavities and prevent future cavities. Eden ministries is one of the best child sponsorship programs I have ever come across; eden ministries allows you to send items of gifts and clothing to your sponsor child. This program is unique and is changing the lives of many people in Zimbabwe.
In 2017, I was blessed to visit Dave and Cynthia Fortescue in Doma. We spent a great deal of time sharing with the wonderful leadership of Eden Ministries. The clinic, the orphanage, all the work and opportunity for locals was amazing. Kevin and Susan Fry, Rory and Judy Ervine, Patterson and Mercy Stephano and Debs all made me feel so at home. God blesses so many young lives through His work here. Zimbabwe needs Eden more than ever. Jeff Crow
Eden Ministries is by far my favorite organization to support! I was able to spend 6 months volunteering with them years ago and on that trip I was able to see how much of an impact that have in their local community!
The deep care and love for the children living here is evident to all who learn of this ministry. The Fry family is eternally committed to the children and families of Zimbabwe. It is a privilege to partner with them in their ministry.
Wonderful organization and Life changing ministry! We sponsor a beautiful young lady who was just just a baby and who is now a teenager. They keep us updated on her and are always trying to improve their ministry. We love their mission and their hearts for the children of Zimbabwe, who hold a special place in my heart having been born and raised there myself. Supporting Eden is definitely worth everything and we love seeing how God is using the staff there to change lives physically, emotionally and spiritually.
Kevin and Susan have such big hearts! Their attitude is what can be done and how can we do it? They communicate and respond to questions immediately. I can't wait to serve alongside the staff at Eden
Eden Ministries is an incredible mission led by a dedicated family. The Fry’s have given their lives to this work to spread love for Christ through caring for orphans and disadvantaged kids in Zimbabwe, and they have done very well with the resources available to them. They are good stewards and good children of Christ. If if you are considering supporting them, know that your donations will go a long way, make a huge impact, and will be used wisely! God Bless!
We have known the couple who started this ministry for many years. They truly love God and the people to whom they are ministering.
Over the past 15yrs. my husband and I have sponsored 2 young girl that have turned into educated, talented young women on their way to college. Eden Ministries takes "the least of these" and helps them become all that they are capable of. Each child is fed, clothed, educated and provided with health care. Each child is provided the opportunity to learn life skills and a safe place in a sometimes very unsafe environment.
Where to begin! I was able to spend time at Eden, and the work being done there is amazing! Their Children's Village, school, farm, clinic, and discipleship programs work together to give back to the community in a way I haven't seen done anywhere else. The team there gives selflessly. They work to provide the best possible opportunity to each person there, no matter their age.
We have been supporters of Eden Ministries for more than 25 years. We have had the blessing of sponsoring several children and seeing them grow and flourish. Eden provides an amazing service not only to the orphans in the area, but to the whole community as well through food assistance and medical help. Great organization!
We have been with & supported Eden Ministries since it was just an idea. Having taken work groups 9 times now, we have seen this ministry grow by leaps and bounds - because of the wonderful supporters & especially Gods hand in all that is done and His showers of blessings - just when needed. LOVE Eden! The 2nd pic is of the first child we sponsored who is Now grown and has her own child. The 1st is of our beautiful child we are now sponsoring - Emmanuel!
We support this ministry because they literally rescue children from death. We have sponsored a boy who was left as a newborn in a public restroom in a plastic bag. They saved him! How can you not support that?
Their love for the welfare of children is just amazing! I have seen children coming in very malnourished, cracked skin and no hope at all and have seen them be transformed into lively little people who enjoy life. Thumbs up to the caregivers and administrators who team up to make sure hope is restored in these young people's lives. The transformation one goes through at Eden is just amazing!
Edens villiage is a wonderful place filled with wonderful people and the awesome Love of Jesus Christ. The Villiage does such a great job of showing God's love and mercy by taking care of the wonderful people of Doma. God Bless this place and all the beautiful souls that call this home.
My wife and I have made that long trip to Zimbabwe to help them twice. What they do under such tough conditions to take care of the poor children is incredible. Growing their own food to feed and support these people suffering under a communist controlled country is the only way these people will survive.

Eden Children's Village is one of the most effective and God honoring nonprofit ministries I have ever had the privilege of visiting. I met Kevin and Susan Fry several years ago through a mutual friend. I thought their ministry was interesting, but probably not that much different than many others. In 2016, I went to Zimbabwe and visited Eden Children's Village with my daughter. Kevin and Susan were actually in the United States at the time. Their son Ian and his family were there as well as other staff. The presence of the Holy Spirit was felt at staff meetings, Bible studies and church.
I was amazed by what I saw and experienced while I was there. I spent a lot of time in their herbal medicine clinic. It was run by a staff of local Shona people. They treated minor injuries and colds to some injuries that required the equivalent of minor surgery. They treated all of the patients with respect and kindness and God's love. It was fun to observe and learn. They have trained their staff to function on their own in the clinic. I also visited the village where the children live. When you visit the village, you are greeted by many happy smiling children. They liked to have their picture taken and than see themselves on your phone, but they were very polite and fun to be around. We had some colors and color books that we let them use. They would take one page and shared colors with each other. We also got to eat an evening meal with one of the families. It was a delight. The children that were older had helped prepare the meal and also helped to serve it. We were made to feel very welcomed and the children behaved so well. After we spent time playing a couple of games and had a devotion time. This was all lead by the Shona staff and or older children. There was not any "representatives" from the mission with us. I also spent a morning at the pre-school. I was amazed at how well behaved the children were and how much they knew. This was preschool and in a second language for these children. They came in the door, took off their shoes and then sat and looked at books. Sharing and not fighting at all. When the teacher was ready for class to start, they sat on a rug in their places and did as she asked. This day they were identifying number on a chart 1-100. I was amazed that almost all of them could identify the number the teacher asked. One student had some difficulty, but the teacher helped him to figure it out. They also had a time when they colored special sounds on a picture. they shared colors without any fighting. They also did some cutting. The scraps were carefully placed on a tray and the scissors were handled carefully. There was no arguing or fighting. When they went outside for their recess, they had a large sandbox. Not once did another child throw sand at someone else. The children shared and played well together. I was there for about 4 hours and at recess kids of multiple ages were playing together. Again, all of the adults were Shona teachers. We went to church on Sunday. The music was led by the older youth and young adults and the preaching was by the local minister, everything was in Shona. Although I couldn't understand exactly what was being said, I felt the presence of the Holy Spirit.
I say all of this because the Frys along with those who work with them allow the local people to provide the care and leadership as much as possible. Although, there are people from outside of Zimbabwe working at Eden Children's Village, the number of those people is few. Much of their leadership is local native people. They are working to teach and train the next generation so that they can be effective leaders in their communities.
Eden Children's Village is one of the most effectively and godly run nonprofit organizations I have ever had the privilege of visiting.
Kevin and Susan Fry are such amazing people . Since the moment we meet them we fell in Love. It was easy to tell that they grasp a portion of the magnitude of the need of the children . As time has progressed so has the needs of the children and the people they help They have worked tirelessly to help those who others could not help . They now have an orphanage and a medical clinic which helps many people who have no access to any medical help whatsoever . They strive to teach the kids about the importance of education and integrity. Some of their graduates have gone on to complete degrees in other nations. They love God and the people God has brought across their path . We are so thankful to play a small role in the work they do in Zimbabwe. I would strongly recommend them because of their faithfulness and fruitfulness.
Eden Ministries is the real deal...they help children and communities by providing medical support, housing, food, employment, and education for the most vulnerable and neglected. This nonprofit is Jesus's hands and feet in action...serving God's children by giving them an opportunity to fulfil physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs. Kevin and Susan Fry , Ian and Heidi Fry, Stephano and Mercy Patterson, Rory and Judy Irvine are people who have given themselves to this ministry along with many others. Their selfless acts of kindness, mercy, and complete dedication to furthering God's Kingdom are what sustains this orphanage, farm, medical clinic, and school....God is good....All the time to those who love Him. We love you Eden Ministries!

Eden Ministries - located in NE Zimbabwe - is an absolutely phenomenal organization. What began over 21 years ago as an orphanage for the children of this ravaged country has grown into a complete life centered ministry. In addition to housing over a hundred orphans, there is a school for preschoolers through high school, (with opportunities for graduates to attend college) , a vocational school where trades are taught to the children who chose not to go to college, a health clinic that serves the surrounding communities - offering both herbal and traditional medicine and treatment free of charge, and a large farm that grows food for not only Eden Village but also the surrounding the community. In all aspects of this organization, the people of Zimbabwe are hugely blessed.
My husband and I have sponsored orphans for many years - and we also have seen first-hand the operations. We spent time with the children in the various classrooms. We saw the long lines of people waiting eagerly for the clinic's nurses to provide care. We saw the agricultural farmland and chicken farm. We spoke with staff on all levels and we had a wonderful time playing and interacting with the children. From the top down, this organization is absolutely a shining star worthy of the highest possible rating. I encourage you to go on their website and see for yourselves the marvelous work done by Eden Children's Village, and the entire Eden Ministries.
I have supported Eden Children's Village since 1998. Kevin and Susan have built this organization from nothing to what it is today! Amazing servants of God. Their son, Ian, and his wife along with their 4 young children serve along Kevin and Susan In Zimbabwe, Africa. They have ministered to orphans by feeding, clothing, schooling and sharing the love of Jesus to them. The ARE making a difference in this area of the world. I would encourage you to support them in their endeavor. They tour the US every winter to raise support for their ministry. Reach out to them to have them visit your church when they are in your area!

It is a privilege to support Eden Ministries and the work of Kevin and Susan Fry and their son, Ian and Heidi Fry. SO dedicated to the work they are doing in Zimbabwe to help the children of aids victims!! We have supported their work since 1998 - WOW - 20 years and will continue to do so even in our retirement years. Knowing that we have helped with support of a few children as their personal sponsors bring joy to our lives - and will someday get to meet them in heaven! We are strongly invested in the work of Eden Ministries and invite any who are on the fence to join us!! Kevin and Susan are personal friends of ours - so we KNOW their hearts and know they are so willing to serve the children at Eden Ministries.
We have been supporting Eden Ministries for approximately 10 years. We have watched one of our sponsored students, Stanford Phiri, grow and mature into a fine young man. He had the courage to leave Zimbabwe and attend university in Lithuania, where he recently graduated as the valedictorian. His success stems in part from the love and nurturing by Eden Village, and in particular by Susan and Kevin Fry. They take in unwanted and unloved orphans, shower them with love and affection, and instill in them God’s love for themselves and others. We cannot overstate how Eden is transforming the lives of so many people.
What makes Eden Ministries noteworthy?
1. Compassion, their heart for the unfortunate orphans.
2. Involvement, to be daily involved in the lives of the orphans.
3. Goals, that each of the orphan's needs are met, soul, body and spirit.
4. Faith, that God will provide and He has proven that many times!
5. Perseverance, not having given up after a few years.
6. Education, teaching and training sustaining life skills.
7. Family, living in small family settings as much as is possible.
8. Practical, working with what they have.
9. Devotion, not shirking from sacrifices or difficulties for the sake of the orphans.
10. Love, total sum of the above.
Eden Ministries is an amazing organization. The Frye’s Ronan excellent job helping us communicate with the child that we sponsor. We recently received numerous letters from him along with a picture. I am able to send him letters all through the year and we can even pick out gifts to be shipped to him. We enjoy looking at photos online and love how involved we get to be and are even hoping to visit in the future.
In May of 2013 I was asked by my husband of 35 years to move out. I had no where to go and I was only working part time temp positions. A friend of Susan & Kevin Fry of Eden Ministries, contacted them and asked if I could stay in their home for a few months. Without knowing me they offered me a place to stay in their home in North Carolina. I have now been here over 5 1/2 years and for 2 of them they have welcomed my granddaughter into their home as well. If it wasn't for their amazing love for human kind I would have been homeless or in a shelter. Over the years I have grown to love and respect them and their relentless courage and dedication to countless orphans in Zimbabwe. Their commitment in serving others is a perfect example of Christ like character. Susan and Kevin's tenacity, consistency and endurance to keep going to provide others with an advantage in everyday life, even when difficult times have come to them, is due to a core value system based on the integrity of who they are. They endure no matter what. I am honored that God allowed me to experience this kind of love and friendship, towards me and hundreds of others through their ministry. I regard them the most selfless people I have ever known. I would trust them with my life. I now consider them my family.
Sincerely,
Ali Rose

I have been blessed to have met Susan and Kevin Frye just as they were starting on the journey to move from small town Indiana to start on the amazing adventure of Eden Ministries and work to create the village there. What an amazing road they have travelled! Starting with just a few workers to train and now serving an entire community by providing them with education, training, job opportunities, the knowledge to grow their own crops and so much more. All of this is being done with God at the center! I was able to attend a function in Goshen, IN where I heard a large group of the children sing and talk about how Eden has changed their lives. I have been a sponsor of a child and was able to watch her grow through pictures and letters, it was a very special experience! Eden is changing the lives of so many and they are a very, very worthy nonprofit. So blessed to be connected with them!
We enjoy supporting a child at Eden Ministries because we get to choose the one God puts on our heart! They are personal and friendly.
It is with great pleasure that I can rate this nonprofit at the highest level. I met Kevin and Susan Fry approximately 10 years ago. I was very impressed with what they had to say about their mission. The care and teaching of the children is primary and that was evident from everything they said as well as what they didn't say. They spoke of individual children and knew details of their lives that could only come from real devotion. It has been my privilege and pleasure to be part of their support team since that time.
I know of no other nonprofit who so wisely uses their money and has made the greatest impact on their community. Lives have literally been saved. Children have been given a chance to thrive and grow in a home instead of just exist on the streets. The AIDS epidemic has left Zimbabwe with orphans that have nowhere to go. Eden Children's Village is there to give them hope and a purpose. I can't even tell you how many lives have been impacted. I have visited and was blown away by the organization, the self sustaining community, the jobs provided for locals, food and medical help for those who would otherwise be without.
Stepping out of the box to help those most in need of help. Without Eden Ministries the children in their care would have very little or no hope for their future. They instead find themselves loved, housed, fed and educated.
I HAVE WORKED WITH THEM SINCE THEIR BEGINNING. I AM A BOARD MEMBER AND HAVE TRAVELED ALMOST 10 TIMES TO WORK ON BUILDING PROJECTS OVER THERE. THEY TAKE CARE OF THE CHILDREN AND PROMOTE CHRISTIAN VALUES AT ALL TIMES.
Eden has been great to work with. They have helped to make sponsorship very personal. From conception to birth, Eden has been true to their mission. It is a blessing to see God use his people in powerful ways!
Visited Eden's Children Village in 2017. One of the most amazing groups I have been around. They are all in on saving lives and the souls within. The ministry is thrifty with their money and making each penny count.
I am forever changed by my time at ECV! The love that is seen in such broken lives is something I will never forget. There is something huge happening in this tiny village!
This is such a wonderful program! It is amazing to see how the children we sponsor are growing and flourishing in their health, their education, and their faith. Not only does Eden help the children in their care, but they make a huge impact on the community around them as well. The Lord is doing wonderful things through Eden Ministries and we are so happy to be able to be a part of it!
We are very committed to Eden's Village. All the orphans who live there get good health care, love, education, a good home, they are taught strong Christian values. I have met one fine young man we have sponsored for 20 years who is an outstanding young Christian man who will return to help his people. They also help adults with jobs and health care in a country that is in horrible financial straits. Eden's is self sustaining.
My husband and I traveled to Eden Children’s Village several years ago with our three children ages four and under. We were blessed and humbled by what we saw going on at this wonderful orphanage! Their love and care for the children was extremely evident in how they related to them, provided for their needs, and loved them as family. It was an honor to get to be a part of a team going to help them build furniture to put in there orphanage homes as well as help teach them some medical and dental skills to use in their clinic . The children loved my children and we’re so excited and happy that we were there! Eden Children’s Village has done great work in the lives of many many children and in my opinion deserves to win this honor!
Eden Ministries has essentially become to base support of an entire Zimbabwean community. They are the stronghold bringing together families to Christ. The way that they comprehensively support the people they minister to should be a model for successful Biblically based ministry. They are touching the lives of many, here and abroad.
Eden Ministries is a awesome selfless Christ Center ministry. Dedicated to serving
aids orphan children in Zimbabwe Africa. I saw first hand how the ministry functions to meet the Spirtual, Physical and Educational needs of the children.
The founders Kevin and Susan Fry and ther teams are faithful genuine Christian's.
They work tirelessly towards the vision that the Lord has given them to give the children a safe place to live, get educated and experience God's Love for themselves.
I have been a monthly child sponsor for several years and had the privilege to visit and work with the ministry teams for a month in 2014. I highly recommend this ministry and I have seen first hand the lives touched and transformed by the power of God's Love through the dedicated servants of Christ at Eden Ministries.

I praise the Lord for what He is doing through this powerful ministry!!! They are the hands and feet of Jesus, as they shower those in Zimbabwe with Christ's love at the village, the academy, the farm, and the clinic. God is bringing hope and healing through Eden!
I volunteered at the school at Eden for two weeks last year, and was so impressed with their loving, dedicated teachers, and sweet joyful students. I have such special memories of the boys and girls sitting at their “offices” (little handmade desks) as their teacher Dudzi handed out papers while saying “This is for a special boy! This is for a sweet girl!” The love of Christ was evident in so many ways at Eden.
I have been greatly impacted by Eden. I've visited twice now, and not only is the whole ministry wonderful, but I have been personally impressed by some of the people who work and serve at Eden (both foreign and Zimbabwean). Not only by those who lead, but by some of the young men who have grown up through Eden Children's Village. I am encouraged by how their lives have been redeemed and they are living with purpose and passion for the Kingdom of Jesus Christ!
Eden is a great place for a group trip, and offers plenty of experience and introduction into life in rural Zimbabwe. There are lots of ways to get involved, serve, and experience. Powerful visit.
They’re amazing at what they do! I. Can’t understate how valued they are in the local community of Doma. Splendid people who love Jesus and are doing kingdom work.
I felt a tug to help the AIDS orphans in sub-Saharan Africa back in the late 1990s. But instead of sending the money to UNICEF or other secular agencies, I looked for a church sponsored mission. Using a dinosaur of a computer and dial-up internet, I found Kevin and Susan Fry within 2 clicks. They had been operating a vocational school during the first year or so while they got the governmental permits to take in children. Since then I have watched the ministry grow to the amazing place that it currently is, where the raise almost all the food needed to feed more that 800 people per day, supply life-saving medication to their HIV children, serve the medical needs of the community, educate the children that they serve through their own academy, all while negotiating a tenuous political situation, fending off wild animals, and dealing with currency issues. This is a FABULOUS non-profit that does what it says it will do and uses your hard-earned dollars wisely.
ECV is a place close to my heart because long before I knew it existed God placed a desire to spend a summer meeting, enjoying and serving alongside brothers and sisters in Christ who lived in Africa. From the moment I connected with the missionaries and support staff of ECV until the present, I've been amazed at how God inspires such holistic, simple and joy filled life at Eden. ECV isn't about the affluent donating to the downtrodden, but it is about people from across the globe coming together to care, learn, inspire and bring honor and glory to a loving and tender Heavenly Father. After spending a summer as an intern at ECV and many years now as a child sponsor, I am different because of the incredible opportunity to be part of this community.
I visited Eden and was amazed at the amount of help they are able to provide. It goes well beyond the kids but to the families and surrounding community. They maximize their resources creating a beautiful place to live, work, and, grow up. They take care of medical, spiritual, educational, dietary needs. They mentor, teach and love these people. A dollar has never gone farther than it does in Eden, where family is created. We have supported 3 kids, and have witnessed the long term effect, it's truly wonderful.
I've worked with Kevin & Susan Fry off and on for years now. I've worked with them with their website, and reaching more supporters using the internet and current media technologies. It's been a blessing and honor to spend time and work with them and give them a new-age avenue to reach anyone wolrdwide. They are always in need of more supporters even if all you can do is say prayers for them you will be welcomed with open arms. This is a true missionary and what they do over there in Zimbabwe is just amazing to me. I respectively give this non-profit a 5-star rating and welcome anyone to spend a few minutes and check out what they are doing by following their facebook page or checking out their website at http://edenchildrensvillage.org/
My husband and I have been working with Eden's since it's conception. We have been sponsoring our child for 12 years and with 6 visits under our belts have been blessed and privileged to watch her grow up in a safe, nurturing, Christian home. Plus, each cent of child sponsorship goes directly toward the child - NOTHING is used for anything else. (Separate funds for other needs.)
We are so amazed by everything God has done with and for HIS mission there to help these kids who, at one time, were so desparate. There have been miraculous healings through prayer and the clinic on site (completely free). Kids who didn't know hardly the basics academically are now among the best educated kids in the country.
I know this sounds like an "ad", but we wouldn't and could not have stayed with it for these many years if it wasn't truly God's doing. Our times there are among the most incredible things we have ever experienced. Anyone wanting an opportunity to help others should definitely look into putting their efforts in the rural Zimbabwe area.
We feel totally blessed to be part of this ministry.
I am so thankful for the opportunity to partner with Eden as a sponsor/donor. The expanse of the operation is overwhelming to the common observer, (it was when we visited!) but it is so well run! The founders have such a passion for the children and the people of Zimbabwe, but they also have been blessed the leadership skills to put that passion into effective action. They save lives, not just in the sense of immediate rescue, but also by staying with the children they save and seeing them through adulthood. And though they are Americans in Africa, they have NO intention of teaching the kids to be Americans, but instead to value their Zimbabwean heritage as members of the global body of Christ and society.
My wife and I had the opportunity to meet the founders of Eden a couple of years ago. We were very impressed with what they are doing there and we were asked to come visit, so this past summer we spent six weeks at Eden, my wife working in the herbal clinic and myself doing carpentry work at the orphan village and at the farm. It was fantastic. We were thrilled to meet the little girl that we have been sponsoring for a year.
We have the highest respect for the staff at Eden and the work they are doing. They grow much of their food, employ much of the local village, the clinic is free and has helped so many sick people, the children live in family settings, not institutions, and the children are all being educated with a very good curriculum by dedicated teachers. The children at Eden are healthy, strong and happy, and it is all due to the hard work and dedication of those who are giving their all to make it happen.
Eden is a fantastic ministry! I've been sponsoring a kid for right at a year now and recently was able to visit her. It was such and incredible experience.
Eden is a safe place where kids who are orphaned and broken can be filled with the love of Jesus and be given an opportunity for a bright future.
I would recommend that everyone who would like to invest in the life of a child, do so through Eden Children's Village. I've seen what a difference it makes firsthand and I encourage others to send their Kingdom dollars where it will truly change a life for the better. I can not think of anything more important than investing in the life of a child.
I am blessed to partner with Eden Ministries. The team the Fry's work with in Zimbabwe are saving at-risk AIDS orphans. They have little overhead so the money I donate goes directly to providing food, housing, medical care, clothing, education, emotional and spiritual needs and all for about $1/day. In an area where death is the norm, the Eden children are thriving! My trip to Eden was one of the highlights of my life. I was impressed how the people of that area have invested in the kids who would otherwise have no chance in life. They get to experience the thrill of seeing children mature and go on the higher education. They also have the privileged of providing a loving environment for end of life care for those who die from AIDS. Thank God for Eden!
