I'm a UT Austin faculty member who works closely with EcoRise on a research-practice partnership. I deeply enjoy this collaborative work. EcoRise is an organization that is interested in getting the work done, as well as learning and adapting based on new challenges or insights. They also understand the power of partnerships, both in terms of program impact and in building the environmental education movement at large.
I have nothing but good things to say about EcoRise. I've known the EcoRise leadership and staff since the organization's earliest days, as a colleague and friend, and I've always been impressed by their professionalism, big-picture thinking, and programmatic successes. A couple of years ago, I was invited to work with the team as a consultant on some federal grant applications -- that was a great honor, and a great experience. The folks at EcoRise inspire me!
EcoRise is an innovative and deeply engaged organization, committed to ensuring young people and schools play a central role in solving the climate crisis. I first met the founder, Gina, when I was trying to figure out how to spend my time as a newcomer to Austin and was electrified by her passion and vision. I joined the Fundraising Advisory Council and felt truly valued as a volunteer, given space and empowered to bring ideas and connections to the table from my years in the environmental nonprofit space. Through several transitions, including working at UT Austin and moving back to Boston, I've kept in touch with EcoRise and been impressed but not surprised in the least that they play prominent role in diverse settings. At UT, they're a huge part of a project that makes up the Planet Texas 2050 Grand Challenge, and here in Boston, EcoRise clearly has a (low carbon!) footprint in the green school arena in which I now find myself. Overall, EcoRise knows how to weave networks and maximize the generous support of their funders and volunteers.
EcoRise works so hard for the communities they serve. Staff are intelligent, dedicated to their cause, and fierce advocates for students and teachers. The organization has a growth trajectory because of their keen awareness of how schools work, trends in the marketplace, and opportunities for mutualistic alignment with partners and funders.
The U.S. Green Building Council has partnered with EcoRise for nearly 7 years, across multiple ventures, and delights in working alongside their staff and school communities.
CAPA Strategies, LLC partnered with EcoRise in 2020 to conduct a community-level heat mapping project. Not only was the Houston/ Harris County campaign the largest we'd ever conducted with 84 volunteers traversing a 300 square mile area, but ever since EcoRise has proven an effective, insightful, and holistic organization in their approach to community-centered climate preparedness and adaptation. Between data provision, tailored curricula, community engagement and involvement, and professional efficacy and responsiveness, we've developed a strong relationship with this excellent organization that we hope will continue to broaden and increase equity in the climate field.
We have collaborated with EcoRise on various occasions, and our experience working with them has been nothing but stellar. The EcoRise team is a dedicated group of passionate individuals committed to making a difference in the field. Their track record of successful projects speaks for itself, and the organization's work building the next generation of leaders and environment advocates should be recognized at a much larger scale. Kudos to the team, and continue the great work!
We worked with EcoRise to produce two bands of lesson plans and they turned out great. There was a tremendous amount of collaboration between their team and ours, and it worked seamlessly, which is not often the case.
We appreciate their knowledge, ability and mission, and highly recommend EcoRise.
I served on the EcoRise board for 5 years and what I saw in action every day was a focused staff committed to fulfilling the mission. Driven, innovative, and dedicated to students and teachers, EcoRise as a whole is the hope and on the ground impact our communities need in creating a sustainable future. Its top notch, captivating curriculum is one of a kind too—Who knew biomimicry could be so cool!?
EcoRise rises to the occasion! This mission driven organization is whole-heartedly committed to celebrating student innovation that inspires future leaders. I have the pleasure of working with EcoRise on the program side as a city partner and now as a board member. I joined the board after seeing first-hand the thoughtful, values-based educational programming centered on community, equity, integrity, resiliency, and more. EcoRise is also an exceptional steward of their financial contributions and exhibits best practices for both accountability and transparency. EcoRise is what is needed now to support our teachers and youth where students discover and actualize real-world solutions to create a sustainable future for all.
Teamming up with EcoRise has been a wonderful experience because you are learning something new every day and that motivates you to give your best as a professional. The energy and passion for what they do is contagious!!!
I've been serving on the Board of directors at EcoRise for more than a year now and have been consistently blown away by the commitment and calibre of the EcoRise team. In a particularly challenging year, the staff and leadership team were able to navigate through new and ongoing issues with tenacity, foresight, and a steadfast focus on the needs of the community they serve. They make it a point to include the voices of educators and students in the way they think about their strategy and work, ensuring that the approach taken is always one that is impact-driven and adaptive to localized needs. I highly recommend EcoRise as an organization to volunteer and partner with!
EcoRise has been a wonderful partner! I've worked with them for the past year to create some lesson plans around climate change and energy systems for the past year. I've been incredibly impressed with their commitment to quality, responsiveness, and expertise when it comes not just to crafting materials, but also supporting teachers in the classroom. Every person I've interacted with throughout the organization has been deeply passionate and committed to the mission. If you have a chance to work with them jump on it!
EcoRise is one of the most exceptionally well-run nonprofits with whom I've ever worked. I'm continuously impressed by the organized leadership, passionate staff and engaged teachers. They are thoughtful and impact-driven.
It has been such a great experience working with EcoRise. Everyone I interact with there has been the ultimate, caring professional. It has been my pleasure partnering with them to help high school students access affordable, green building education. Working towards our mutual goal of helping young people earn their LEED Green Associate credential, so they can catapult themselves into the workforce with a distinctive advantage, has been invigorating.
As a teacher I love Ecorise and how accessible their services are. My third graders learned how to take data, and look for solutions to a problem. Their joy when our grant for compost materials was fully funded was hard to beat. As we monitor our worms and continue to learn and teach others about composting instead of filling landfills, Ecorise continues to support us. They make is easy for me to teach the next generation how to take better care of our earth!
