Mission: Mission Statement: EAG partners with local governments, academic institutions, businesses, community development organizations, policymakers, and the communities it serves to build strong, connected, well-conceived solutions that spark lasting change. Using equity planning at its core and productive tools like fiscal agency, high-quality research, community-based internships to retain talent, and targeted commercial development, EAG strengthens networks and supports decisions that foster a culture of innovation and enterprise.
Results: As a 501(c)(3) community and economic development nonprofit in Youngstown, Ohio, we champion initiatives that strengthen and grow our local economy. Our work has contributed significantly to the revitalization of our city, including: $2,782,608 in economic activity generated to date 6.49 linear miles of commercial corridors cleaned and maintained Recipient of the International Economic Development Council Award for Excellence in Economic Development (Neighborhood Development Sector, 2023) Direct technical assistance provided to over 30 entrepreneurs in grant/lending support, design review, property search, marketing, and graphic design Supporter or contributor to 20+ public art installations Looking ahead to 2025, we aim to expand our workforce, opportunities, and services to further support entrepreneurs and small businesses. Target demographics: EAG is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in the Mahoning Valley. We promote economic development, reduce urban blight, attract business investment, and support job retention through collaboration with city officials, businesses, and public and private entities. Our work focuses on promoting local investment, improving city corridors, and supporting public art. Our vision is a vibrant, fair, and prosperous Mahoning Valley where people want to live, work, and play. We achieve this through initiatives like Commercial Property Revitalization, Community Engaged Learning internships, and the Mahoning Valley Resource Compass (digital tool).
