I have had the wonderful and amazing chance to watch and see what this organization does for everyone who comes as a student or volunteers here. It is just the most amazing thing too see how much effort all the staff put into teaching and guiding everyone with the hands on workshops they provide. This is the best and most beautiful way to learn how to be sustainable and work with people who care so much about our planet and environment. They exceed 5 stars by far!!!

Causes: Agricultural Programs, Community Improvement & Capacity Building, Food, Food, Agriculture & Nutrition
Mission: Research and teach biointensive food growing methods.
Programs: Research farming/training program: led tours of site, gave workshops, trained students to teach in their own communities. Over 100 people participated in the us and over 100,000 in other countries. Research continued in the ecology action garden, results published in quarterly newsletter. Two apprentices and ten interns were trained.
publication/correspondence: continued to publish three times a year, a newsletter of research findings and training opportunities. Revised booklets on grow biointensive sustainable mini-farm practices. Revised information handouts, answered over 1,000 requests for information.
mailed: 40,000 free catalogs; books and booklets; information sheets; plus information on training programs, organic food production, nontoxic pest control, seeds and seed saving. Answered over 8,000 responses to catalog and 4,000 garden specific questions. Maintained website with new and updated grow biointensive and general gardening information.
