Programs: Growing Tomorrow’s Environmental Leaders The Eco Hero Kids Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization established in 2010 by Julia Holland, a community activist and arts educator in Malibu, California. The foundation provides children with vital, hands-on learning tools to become guardians for a better planet, inspiring them to think creatively and strategically, and to mentor their peers to have an impact. Educate. Create. Cultivate. For over 10 years, the foundation’s performing group, Eco Hero Kids, has educated and inspired children with music, dance, art, and theater. Experience demonstrates that creativity and self-expression are successful vehicles to teach, motivate, and nurture the necessary leadership skills for children to become activists for the environment. Eco Hero Kids has enjoyed worldwide reach, performing at festivals and conventions, and acting as ambassadors to other environmental organizations. In 2010 The Eco Hero Kids participated at an Academy Award event honoring “The Cove,” a documentary about the abuse of Dolphins near Taiji, Japan. THE ECO HERO KIDS ONLINE PLATFORM The Eco Hero Kids Foundation has created an online program/curriculum to educate children about the environment and our social responsibility to protect, nourish, and cherish the planet's beauty and resources. Our platform offers a holistic, age-appropriate school curriculum: Understanding our connection to nature, the natural resources that directly affect children’s daily lives (where food comes from, where trash ends up, etc.), the current climate crisis, advocacy, and more. Social-Emotional Development nurturing real-life skills that support effective activism–empathy, self-awareness, confidence, cooperation, collaboration, and more. Ten engaging interactive modules, including videos, worksheets, activities, leadership boards, as well as dance, song, and theater–all designed to inspire children to become activists, innovators, and mentor within their own local neighborhoods and communities, in the USA and abroad.
