Makers marketmakers market brings together some of the regions best emerging artists to showcase their one-of-a-kind crafts. This highly curated event celebrates goods that are functional, well designed and handmade by our local community. Choose to buy locally produced and handmade goods, rather than factory made. When we do so, we keep our money and skills inside our community to strengthen and grow our economy while supporting talented, skilled and artistic individuals. Supports school gardens and their leaders with mentorship, curriculum, materials, and resources to help create gardens that are beautiful, educational, and functional. Gyo! Gardens are designed to educate across five core areas of sustainability- food, water, waste, shelter, and energy. Our curriculum aligns with the relevant educational standards and ngs standards. Our program creates cumulative and lasting relationships that form a supportive and collaborative school garden network in southern california. Eco-labs field tripsoutdoor, educational experiences focused on our eco-labs. Designed to be experienced sequentially, each eco-lab station promotes participatory learning, systems thinking, experimentation, and observation. Each workshop focuses on building a product or project, bringing sustainability to life in your own backyard. Eco-apprenticesa 3-month permaculture design course and certification taking place at the ecology center from june through august. Permaculture offers a set of ethical guidelines and basic principles inspired by nature that help people design, create and maintain sustainable living.
