When speaking to an acquaintance once, about Echoing Hope Ranch, I saw a sense of discovery come over her face and she said "Wow, I never thought about it but kids with autism do grow up, don't they?". They do. And just like any other person in the world, they need to keep learning and growing. My giving story is that I joined in with money, time, and passion to help create Echoing Hope Ranch, a place where adults with autism are respected as intelligent, valuable people. My son is one of those valuable people, as are many other people's sons and daughters. They deserve a future with hope, potential and the excitement of growth. So often, well meaning people respond to those who have disabilities, with pity rather than seeing the human being who is much more like them than they are different. I will always be devoted to Echoing Hope Ranch because they see my son as a young man, full of his own thoughts and goals. They believe in him and they believe in others and the more they can light up that path, the more hope there is that the world will truly come together. We're all in this together; we just have different ways to travel.
