This amazing organization has only a hand full of paid employees, still they manage to do great work for low-income, elderly, disabled individuals and families. They are there to listen and give loving support to anyone that asks. I volunteered at their Family Life Center each week where a delicious community meal was offered. In addition, they had workshops, taught /facilitated by volunteers and childcare available so parents could attend; such as, basic sewing/knitting, assist w filling out applications for mainstream resources, goal setting, empowerment groups, you name it they probably offered it. Due to a reduction in grants or just narrowing guidelines for federal or state funding has caused the Family Life Center to cease. Love, Inc of Manistee County recently opened a Thrift Store in Benzie County to help support their good work.
