I completed a summer internship with EatSF and I couldn't have enjoyed it more! I was impressed by the team's cohesion, passion, friendliness, and the inclusive atmosphere of the workplace. It was clear to me that all members of the team were appreciated for their contributions and they all worked very well together. I was impressed by how much knowledge people had about the areas they worked on, from the policy landscape, to grant writing, to knowing the ins and out of the community organizations we worked with, and how they worked together and combined this knowledge to make EatSF function so cohesively. I also noticed that the team is very intentional about taking on new hires, giving them meaningful work, and making sure people have the bandwith to support new hires in this work. I am very appreciative for the amount of individualized support I received with my work over the summer. Everyone is very open and excited to learn and help where needed.
We have been collaborating with EatSF for the past 2 years through our produce prescription project. EatSF brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in this area. Their team has been extremely helpful in assisting our department in distributing incentives and managing grocery store relationships. Without EatSF, I don't think this project was possible! Their team is organized, detail-orientated and flexible. They are a great partner to work with as they respond and fulfill our requests/questions in a timely manner. I look forward to continuing our partnership and expanding our produce prescription project to other parts of the County.
The Vouchers 4 Veggies team embodies excellence, integrity, thoughtfulness, and hard work in everything they do. As a former intern and staff member for 4 years, it was an absolute pleasure to work alongside such passionate and talented people. From training and supporting local organizations to distribute fruit and vegetable vouchers to thousands of people in San Francisco annually to being on the forefront of policy discussions, the Vouchers 4 Veggies team is committed to improving access to fruits and vegetables in all communities.
I had the opportunity to work with the Vouchers 4 Veggies team for a few months earlier this year. Everyone is super passionate about the work they do and were always there to help when I had questions. I helped out with the collaboration Eat SF has with WIC to give fruit and veggie vouchers to pregnant people. Those who participated were given vouchers to support them through the nine months of their pregnancy. I believe that Eat SF is an amazing program that has given so many low-income people the resources to fresh and healthy food that they deserve. They also created a program where they were able to give food vouchers to hundreds disproportionately impacted by COVID. The team is very attentive to every participant, making sure they all get their vouchers and answering any questions/concerns. This program is helping so many members of our community dealing with food insecurity and Im happy I was able to contribute to this cause and witness all the great work they are doing for various communities!
The Vouchers4Veggies program has been such an amazing journey. The partnership was nothing but perfect. There was always support when needed and never an issue with response. The families that received the program were excited to know that they would be able to continue to eat healthily and not have to worry about financial instability.
I would continue to partner with this program for as long as I would be able to and would recommend everyone to join!!
Thank you to our partners and look forward to continuing a long time relationship.
Our partnership program with Vouchers 4 Veggies has been invaluable for our community. Our program participants have been successfully able to access more fresh fruits and vegetables to improve their health. The majority of our participants have said this program has made a significant impact on them. We love working with V4V and are proud of our program accomplishments!
I have worked with EatSF-Vouchers for Veggies as a partner in launching a produce prescription program in rural Louisiana. They have provided a high level of support and technical assistance to our team throughout the process. This has included onsite support to engage retailers, providing templates for training and marketing resources, and working closely with our team to develop tracking processes that are adapted for our program needs. They have provided expertise and thought partnership as we have navigated program implementation challenges and have remained flexible through many program pivots. They are community focused and have worked with us to adapt processes to meet the needs of this specific community. Their team is professional, yet easy to work with and highly communicative. They are committed and passionate about improving access to fruits and veggies for all communities. Overall, my experience working with them has been excellent and highly recommend them as a partner.
There are a lot of organizations working to solve food insecurity in the Bay Area and nationally. What makes EatSF stand out is its understanding that people want healthy food but can't always afford it. By providing vouchers for fresh fruits and vegetables they give individuals the ability to buy the healthy food they already want with no limitations or paternalism involved. Beyond EatSF's excellent programmatic work they are a leader in state and national conversations around fully integrating food into healthcare.
EatSF has helped link local vendors and the community to prevent food insecurity. We've been coordinating with this nonprofit for more than two years, and the feedback received from participants reflects the significant impact their interventions have on vulnerable communities. Their process is efficient, practical, and friendly with both Community Base Organizations and clients.
Being able to work with EatSF has been one of the most fulfilling experiences I have ever had. The work processes are incredibly well organized, and everyone is so kind and a delight to work with. One of the best parts of my experience was to hear how much the program impacted participants' lives and how the extra aid helped them put healthier foods on their tables. The fact that this program ensures that resources are being given to the most vulnerable populations in the city is one of the most humbling parts of this job. Every day gives me something new to learn and I couldn't be more grateful to incorporate this experience into my life. Thank you so much !
