Eastie Farm is a tremendous addition to our neighborhood. It offers food to those who need it, sells seedlings at discounted rates, provides volunteer opportunities for people who want to give back, and offers spaces for people to gather.
Eastie Farm is a gem in the East Boston neighborhood. They are simultaneously addressing food insecurity, green job training, educational programming, community-building, and accessible spaces. The staff, Climate Corps members, and volunteers alike are welcoming and dedicated. All materials and programs are in both English and Spanish. Besides my positive experiences at their volunteer work parties where I have planted seeds, washed pots, sorted plants, and met neighbors, I absolutely LOVE their seedling sale each spring, where I have gotten phenomenally vibrant vegetables for my garden. They are one of the only places in East Boston where you can find healthy, affordable (sliding-scale pricing) seedlings, houseplants, soil, and more.
Eastie Farm is an oasis in Boston. It's beautifully designed, it's a place where neighbors meet and come away with new friends, and it is a source of fresh food. I love the educational and public service components that accompany all of their efforts. Boston is lucky to have this organization.
Eastie Farm is such a gem of an organization. I've gone to community events hosted there, volunteered there and participate in their CSA. I'm so grateful to have this place in my neighborhood. The people are so welcoming and the purpose is so holistically fulfilling of what the neighborhood needs.
Eastie Farms is such a wonderful and joyful organization that does transformative work in a grounded, community-centered, and caring way. We're lucky to have this organization in our community!
Community does not always come from proximity. I don't live nearby, but I have a few friends who love Eastie Farm, so I've been there to visit. Everyone was open and welcoming to a stranger, relaxed but hard working. I had a good time, and can't wait to visit again.
Local gem. Lucky to have them nearby and have them share healthy food with the neighborhood. We appreciate all you do for the community.
Eastie Farm is a community gem. They do so much to engage the local community..
My first experience with Eastie farm, I literally ran into them on a farmer's market day. They made it possible for me to get fresh vegetables in what otherwise can be considered more of a fresh-food desert.
I later came to volunteer and support some of the build out of their new greenhouse. You can feel the energy when you show up - inviting workers and volunteers, a real mix of the current community. And all of the programming for the community, and kids, is inspiring. And everything is bilingual in Spanish and English. I appreciate that when seeing updates, texts, and alerts. The later part shows to me that this organization is also meeting people where they are to provide updates and get others involved.
So excited to see what Eastie Farm continues to do to support our community of East Boston!
Eastie Farms is an incredible community, an incredible organization and I am honored to be a part of it. They do so much work to outreach to the local community and especially young people, and get them interested in gardening and farming. They do a lot of food justice work to get fresh, healthy food out to the East Boston community. Once you’ve become part of the Eastie Farms crew, you're family.
I became involved with Eastie Farm during 2020’s global crisis. I live next door to the garden on Sumner St and noticed the volunteers take an empty lot and turn it into a beautiful community space. It is my favorite part of the neighborhood. This garden & organization in general provides so much good for the community- live comedy shows, growing produce, distributing food to neighbors, etc. It is a community space that I hope lives on forever. I love the work that this organization does for Eastie!!
I was introduced to the work at Eastie Farm almost two years ago now. They are dedicated to the local community and help provide sustainable and climate friendly solutions.
Eastie Farm is enabled by grassroots effort of everyday community members and has built a sense of community among people who care about sustainability and green space in an urban environment. The variety of programs and events it offers, always for free to the public, adds vitality and hope to a community that otherwise could never imagine it - the geothermal greenhouse, the multiple urban gardens, the sustainable practices. Its welcoming and inclusive spirit means Eastie Farm has a place for everyone.
Eastie Farm is an incredible organization making a significant impact in East Boston. They are dedicated to addressing food insecurity and promoting climate resilience and the staff is passionate and friendly and always welcoming. I highly recommend getting involved with this amazing organization!
I have loved working with the team at Eastie Farm and being able to visit their facilities. As a research collaborator observing their Climate Corps program, I have directly observed the impacts they have had on young people in Boston and the impact these young people have had on their wider community.
The expertise, wisdom, and open-hearts of the EF staff are so incredible to observe, they are truly changemakers. My only regret is not being able to collaborate with them all more.
Eastie Farm is a wonderful organization doing so much important community work in East Boston! I have partnered with them on projects for the last several years, and I look forward to continuing to do so. They address food insecurity, promote climate resilience, host events, and generally foster a great sense of community in all they do!
Eastie Farm is an remarkable community led effort, run with warmth and joy. They're working on climate resilience, food insecurity and nutrition outreach and welcome volunteers of all ages and abilities, and will train you in any task needing to be done. Folks are also welcome to just come + hang out at their beautiful gatherings. An important project is their Youth Climate Change Fellowship, to train the next generation to be the change. A joyful place working on serious issues. Every minute of volunteering or dollar donated is effort + money well spent!
Volunteering with Eastie Farm was such a highlight of the last growing season. Helping with the free food distributions alongside some of the most committed staff I've had the pleasure of working with gives me hope for the food justice organizations of the future. Can't recommend this organization more!
Eastie Farm provides the best volunteer experience. There are so many important projects going on that volunteers can help out it with like CSA distribution, planting seasonal produce, building raised beds, and maintenance for the several farm sites around East Boston. Eastie Farm is a community-led effort that cares for the people and planet. Children at the local schools get to see this in action right next to their school buildings. The City of Boston benefits in innumerable ways from what Eastie Farm has accomplished.

Amazing! Eastie Farm is beyond description, the entire staff is professional and expresses great respect and empathy towards our senior residents (we service the elderly and disabled population) Our residents look forward to the weekly program. The produce Eastie Farm provides our residents with is of high quality and very fresh. I hope they will be able to renew the program.
Eastie Farm has brought urban agriculture and gardening to our neighborhood with ab awesome mission to build community along the way! They are constantly using their spaces to host events to bring our community together while also promoting the use of the earth. They also have a robust food access program that was particularly impactful for our community during the pandemic.
Eastie Farm is a valued non profit in our community. The work they do around food security and climate change is outstanding. They are very easy to partner with and engage with the community in a number of meaningful ways.
Eastie Farm has been an incredible supporter of Boston Food Hub and our work to support Massachusetts farmers over the past three years. We're so appreciative of their local food purchases and are honored to partner with an organization that's increasing access to fresh local produce in East Boston.
I have worked in partnership with Eastie Farm to address food insecurity in East Boston since 2020. I have been continually impressed and inspired by their transformative, grassroots, community-centered approach. From training local youth for climate-friendly jobs and supporting neighbors with culturally-relevant, locally grown foods to building the region's first geothermal greenhouse, Eastie Farm is engaged in truly revolutionary food justice work. Their staff are passionate, enthusiastic, and committed to challenging the status quo, advocating tirelessly on behalf of underserved and marginalized East Boston residents while uplifting this vibrant community. This is a gem of an organization and one to watch -- they are making a tremendous, positive impact in East Boston and have exciting plans for the future. I am proud to stand alongside and wholeheartedly recommend Eastie Farm!
I got involved as a student when the sites were first started, and I was so excited to be involved with an initiative to grow food and food justice in the neighborhood I grew up in. Now, I am proud to be a part of the board. It is so exciting to see how much Eastie Farm has expanded on sites, but also reach in feeding more people has been incredible. Can't wait to see Eastie Farm grow more.
Eastie Farm has done amazing work in the East Boston community. It started when a small group turned an abandoned lot into a community garden. I helped pull out lots of Japanese knotweed in that garden in the early years. Since then, Eastie Farm has become the caretaker for half a dozen community gardens in East Boston, built the first geothermal greenhouse in the region, and runs a CSA that includes free shares for those in need. It also has a lot of wonderful programming throughout the year, including educational workshops and summer programming for students to foster the next generation of environmentally-minded people. It also has community programming, including comedy nights and solstice events. I love being part of an organization that is a force for the community and that is open to all.
