Causes: Anthropology & Sociology
Mission: The promotion of excellence in sociological scholarship and instruction. The society publishes a professional journal - sociological forum-, a newsletter, convenes an annual 4 day general meeting, sponsors numerous award competitions, an employment forum and maintains an extensive mailing list of 5,000 names.
Programs: Organized major conference for approximately 1,000 members and published quarterly professional journal and newsletters promotes profession among students and general public. Students attended and were updated on latest changes in the profession.
