This post is in response to the review of the Dyspraxia Foundation USA provided by Molly53 on 2/2/2017:
I'm terribly sorry to hear of your negative experience with the Dyspraxia Foundation USA and I empathize with your disappointment and frustration in how things were handled in your situation. I realize that a lot of time has passed since you posted this review, but as a fellow parent of a child with Dyspraxia and as a new volunteer with the Foundation, I wanted to provide a response.

The Foundation has recently been undergoing a reorganization and rebranding under the leadership of a new Executive Director, a newly elected Board of Directors, and a Medical Liaison. The website has been updated to reflect these changes (https://dyspraxiausa.org). This website was launched in January of 2022 and will continue to grow and evolve over time, so please stay tuned.

It will no doubt take time for the Foundation to realize its goals to spread awareness of Dyspraxia in this country and offer support to individuals with Dyspraxia, their parents and loved ones, educators, and medical professionals. However, I can say from my experience over the past few months of my involvement that there is a talented group of volunteers who are dedicated to doing whatever it takes to realize these goals.

The head of the Dyspraxia USA foundation, at first glance, seems like a nice enough, altruistic fellow who cares about kids and adults born with Dyspraxia (including himself) who are struggling with the disorder. However, after being a long time member of the Dyspraxia USA Foundation Facebook community, and the head of the Dyspraxia USA foundation's personal Facebook page. I started noticing several patterns...1)Announcements of "Big Secret exciting news" with forthcoming information/details, which will benefit Dyspraxia awareness, which are, then, never ever disclosed, later 2)Private messaging temper tantrums, to me, from the head of the Dyspraxia USA foundation head, complaining about multiple mortgages his parents had taken out to finance his foundation, and complaints that Dyspraxia USA members don't support him and his family enough, financially (felt like a manipulative extortion plot) 3)Dyspraxia USA foundation head does nothing but post political FB posts, in all of 2016, on his personal Facebook page, supporting Gary Johnson for president, all but ignoring the actual Dyspraxia USA foundation FB page, where, actual community members try to find community...Dyspraxia USA foundation head very much gave the impression that he was more interested in the personal notoriety, associated with getting photographs and face time with a Presidential political candidate, rather than the members of his foundation 4)Many Dyspraxia USA members express a desire for community and meet ups, on the Dyspraxia USA Foundation FB page, but head never suggests or plans any outings for the members 5)Dyspraxia USA foundation head offers IEP 'consultations' for a 90$ fee, even though he has no credentials, other than being a 'self appointed expert' (We got conned into paying for one of these consultations, for which, he left the IEP early, so he could catch an early train, on time, and not have to stay later). In short, between the odd behaviors, threatening letters he shared with me to the Department of Education, who refused to support him, the personal financial problems, which he tries to use the foundation to support himself and his family...finally, came to the conclusion that he is not concerned about member's Dyspraxic children or loved ones. He is a con artist, trying to use the foundation for financial gain, to support himself and family, and to gain notoriety through the foundation. When I began giving critical feedback on community FB page about no follow through on "Big Secret" announcements with "forthcoming" details, and not supporting, or having any real community he decided to Block me on Dyspraxia USA Foundation Facebook page b/c he was worried my opinions would delegitimize what the members and public thought of him and his "work". He has an arrogant attitude, and is a con artist with a temperament of a 5 year old. If people tell him no, or give critical feedback he is irrational, instead of listening and understanding other's concerns. DO NOT GIVE THIS MAN YOUR MONEY or your time!!!
