Brigitte is a true angel! He is needed an emergency home for our cat who we tried to rehome. The new home wasn’t working out, Brigitte accepted her immediately and she’s already so comfortable with her (she’s usually very shy). We are so thankful for her and her non profit! ❤️
This rescue goes above and beyond taking care of the cats and other animals in their charge. They want to make sure the right cat goes to the right home. I'm looking forward to getting my furbaby in the next couple of weeks
We adopted Luka about 2 weeks ago and he is the perfect addition to our family. He is the sweetest, most affectionate boy ever. We love him so much & are so thankful to DART.

The Duette Animal Rescue Team often takes in special needs cats from individuals or other shelters. Recently, our founder and President collaborated with another shelter and took over a cat brought in with serious injuries. The cat is improving, and the Duette Animal Rescue Team is looking for funds, to pay for the necessary surgery. The Duette Animal Rescue Team also helps senior citizens find the right feline to adopt and adjust their adoption fee accordingly.
We help set up a Pet Care Plan with the family if something happens to the senior citizen in the future. DART will take their cat back, if necessary, to ensure it is safe and sound. In short, the founder goes out of her way to help the community with stray, abandoned, and injured cats and offers a sanctuary for cats that cannot be adopted out.
Brigitte's passion for rescuing and taking perfect care of animals, mostly cats, that are homeless is unprecedented! There are only few people that I know who are so dedicated to this work. Always being prepared to help and collaborating with other shelters in other counties or states is what she does... please donate as much as you can, whether it is food, money or maybe even office containers or mobile units that she can transfer into practical and useful cat buildings. This rescue has, time and again, stepped up to help save animals when others would not. They always try to answer your messages and will help if they can or will put the word out to their fellow rescuers for additional help. I support everything they have done and continue to do when animals need their help.
i was very lucky that DART was willing to help me place 3 beautiful adult cats that came into our neighborhood (probably drop offs). All other local facilities refused to help me.
I donate regularly to DART mainly because of Brigitte Ivory's hard work and devotion to rescue helpless animals in need. She goes above and beyond for each rescue and refuses to give up on them no matter what condition they are in. Her selfless drive is admirable and each donation is greatly appreciated.

When we lost our furry friend last February, we knew we wanted to adopt another cat sooner rather than later. My husband found Bridgett online and he told her of our situation with a grieving senior cat. She recommended Mango to us. Bridgett brought Mango to the house and helped her get her situated. She even came back to help with some medicine administered for Mango. Mango was a sweet as could be and after just a weeks she joined our older cat. She has now been apart of our family for a whole year and we absolutely love her. We know when it's time for another cat then we Will definitely go here again.
I met Bridgette while I was working with another rescue. She had rescued a feral cat that was FIV positive and needed a better placement for him. We worked together to get him situated and he eventually became the sweetest, most loving lap cat. We continued to work together for a couple more cats like this and it was a great partnership. She truly wants what's best for the animals she rescues and will do everything she can to see that each one's individual needs are met. A wonderful place!
DART is the most efficient and caring rescue operation I have ever known. I cannot give enough praise to Brigitte for her determination and hard work to ensure her rescued babies find the best homes. She goes above and beyond in the interest of her rescues. We were fortunate to find her when we lost our baby to oral cancer. She worked super fast to make our adoption happen and we couldn't be happier with our new family addition, Hemingway.
Adopted the sweetest ginger cat from Bridgette. She rescued the poor baby and he is a doll. Great animal rescue where the animals are loved and cared for.
I was a volunteer who helped out at this sanctuary. They provided a good place to stay and I learnt a lot while with them. They let me experience different situations while with them. Definitely recommend for any volunteer. It is an amazing place that goes above and beyond for the animals. They always provide the best care they can for the animals, new or old and while I was with them, kept thinking of new ways to improve the animals lives with new enrichment and so on. It's a brilliant sanctuary, definitely recommend to any looking to adopt.
I have gotten to know DART Duette animal rescue and they have stolen my heart! Bridgitte cares deeply about all the animals. When she got up at 4am to get the kitties to the vets for spaying & neutering, I knew that was dedication. I am very impressed with Duette Animal rescue.
After losing my husband to Covid in December 2020, our rescue Abby helped me learn to navigate being alone. She was an amazing cat, loved everyone and adapted easily to any situation. Unfortunately, she had Feline AIDS, which we knew when we adopted her, but knew that she would have the happiest life with us. She died unexpectedly the end of March. It was the first time since my husband died that I felt lonely. Having cats my whole life, I knew I needed another companion. I fell in love with Persia’s picture. She was small (like Abby), about 4 years old, and lived in a big cat colony in Riverview, so semi-feral. Bridgette from DART brought her to me the end of April. Persia has completely bonded to me, but is still frightened of everything and everyone, but she’s getting better. Hopefully, with time, she’ll become more social. DART does do much for so many animals and like most rescues, needs our help and support.
I was looking for a friend for my cat since her mate passed and I was so fortunate to find DART. You can tell the care and thoroughness that take when placing cats and kittens. So grateful to have found our new family member Cali (aka Prada when we was adopted). Can’t recommend DART enough to find your next family member!
Duette Animal Rescue Team (DART) is amazing! Their rescue animals get the best life and best treatment any animal can wish for. They also find loving new homes for the rescue cats. I thank them for doing such great work!
This rescue has brought so much joy and love into our home. I have adopted 2 kitties from them. Best decision I've ever made!!! The owner is the sweetest and most caring person. She answers all questions and I've had alot!! I will always shout out this rescue!!!
We adopted our boy Darby, now Marcus in Jan 2023! Bridget loves her cats and makes sure they are going to a good home! She has a big heart and helps so many cats off the streets! When we are ready for another addition we will be going through DART again.
I can’t say enough great things about Bridgette and Duette Animal Rescue. We recently added the perfect kitty to our family from DART. They do great things rehabilitating and making healthy animals that others throw away. Figaro came to them a mess discarded by his people like trash. But with their caring,!and some medical attention, he is our perfect boy. My husband calls Fig our instacat cause he was acclimated to our household immediately. That is because Bridgette and the rest of DART really put so much time, effort and money into getting these cats into homes. We donate to them whenever we are able. I have adopted 3 cats from Duette Animal Rescue Team in the past 12 months...as each of my 14,16,18 year old kitties died of kidney failure. DART does an excellent job of knowing the details of each cat and suggesting one with the traits I am looking for. I am amazed they know "this cat paws 1 kibble at a time off the plate and eats it" and that cat is very loving, lap sitting, follows you around like velcro, and another gets along well with other cats, in fact prefers a home with other cats but is not a lap sitter. DART knows their cats well and can does a good job finding a home where the cat will fit in well.
This is the place where I could leave my inheritance the day I die, because they take care of the animals with love, seriousness, honesty and respect, I attest
They are fabulous. They care so much for all of the animals. I don't think that they know how to say know to any animal that needs help.
Wonderful team helped me so much I was able to take my sweet 15 year old seniors to the vet there health was declining and they needed to to be seen right away they stepped in and within minutes they were on their way to the vets blood work and first aid given at the vet and they were put on medication and are slowly getting better each day. I appreciate them immensely
I became aware of DART several months ago when I saw a posting on Facebook. Having recently overcome the loss of one of our cats, I contacted Bridgette regarding her rescue cats and, soon thereafter, BuddyBoy (previously "Blue") became part of our family. Since then, I have occasionally assisted Bridgette with transporting cats for vet visits, to new owners, etc. and have come to admire, and be in awe of, her tremendous knowledge, passion, devotion, and hard work in rescuing cats in need. All are thoroughly vetted and microchipped, and she does her due diligence in assuring that the cats and their adopters are a good fit. DART is a "small but mighty" gem in our community, and is worthy of all of our support and funding.
Duette is one of the most proactive cat fostering and adoption teams in the Tampa Bay Area. I wish I was a millionaire so that I could support this organization and their efforts fully. They are doing amazing work.
I wanted to foster one of the older cats, I saw cici and she was so pretty. I had her about 2 weeks. My dog was very jealous and I couldn't keep her. I see now that she has a forever home and I'm so happy.

Of course I don't live in the US or I'd have my red baby from Duette Animal Rescue, but please, please adopt one of these little sweethearts. They give so much and ask so little and they will love you with heart and soul. Please HELP and adopt one or more babies or older cats, who are just as loyal and loving.
A team member, Brigitte, helped me to trap two feral pregnant female cats living on the streets. Then both had their kittens at Duette Animal Rescue and all of them were adopted or in foster homes waiting for a good home. That means like 12 cats off of the streets, imagine how they will multiple! I am very thankful I found this wonderful team who works for the truly benefit and welfare of animals. I am an animal lover and cannot say enough good things about DART!
What makes DART Duette Animal Rescue Team, Inc., stand out is its founder, Brigitte Ivory. Brigitte puts the welfare of DARTs rescued animals above anything else. This became even more evident when she stayed behind at the rescue during Hurricane Ian to ensure that all of the animals were safe and the wildlife habitats were secured. Every single animal was safe and there were no losses. This speaks volumes about the love and care the animals receive at DART. All rescued cats and kittens are evaluated by a veterinarian, provided with any medical care needed, spayed/neutered, tested for feline diseases, vaccinated, and microchipped prior to adoption. In addition, she personally ensures that each one is placed in a loving, permanent home, but it doesn't stop there. Brigitte also follows up with each adopter to ensure that everything is going well and educates them along the way. This rescue goes above and beyond and deserves to be recognized for their efforts to save homeless and unwanted animals. I feel privileged and honored to be a volunteer and board member of this wonderful organization. Our purpose is to provide a permanent home and sanctuary to lemurs who have been mistreated in the pet trade in addition to finding safe, forever homes for stray and abandoned domestic felines. DART’s volunteers work hard to ensure that every animal receives proper care, medical attention, nutrition, socialization, and enrichment. Brigitte and her volunteers genuinely love each and every one of the animals as individuals which is important for their rehabilitation, health, happiness, and well-being. We look forward to grow and build more habitats so that we can accept and help more animals in need. This organization goes above and beyond to provide the very best to all the animals in their care. As a foster mom raising kittens with the help and support of DART, I know I have experts able to answer any questions and willing to provide whatever it takes to make sure the kittens are healthy, loving, and sociable.
There are so many great stories to tell about our wonderful animal rescue team, that I don't know where to begin! 7 Senior cats were rescued from being euthanized and some already found a lovely new home, while others got the treatment they so desperately needed. Kittens and their Mum were rescued from terrible conditions in the street, and the list goes on and on. Our local team is amazing! Thank you for all your great work! The best experience adopting my babies! Vera and Gucci’s faces came up on my Facebook feed and I knew they were the ones. The application process was easy and within 2 days the kittens were home. I was looking for a friend for our bunny and came across this rescue. I reached out and got a very prompt response and everything was in motion within a day! Our new bunny was brought to us in great health and very well socialized. He is becoming best friends with our original bunny!
After visiting this rescue site, it is very evident the love and care that goes into working with all the animals. I had my birthday wish for people to donate, since they also rescue the African Spur-tide tortoises, which are near and dear to my heart. The people that run and volunteer for this rescue work tirelessly to make sure the well-being of every animal is top priority. Bridget reached out to a rabbit rescue I volunteer for when she took in a pregnant mama bun. Duette Reacue don’t normally take in domestic rabbits. Therefore, they are not as educated as they would have liked. They reached out to get the education needed to house, live and take care of these precious babies! I have much respect for Bridgette and her team.

The Duette Animal Rescue Team has done an amazing job in rescuing animals since its start-up in August 2020. They've rescued Lemurs, tortoises, bunnies, and cats. They built them spacious habitats, rehabilitate and care for them with love and passion. Several cats and bunnies have either been fostered or re-homed. Many thanks to Duette Animal Rescue Team for making adoption of Milo (formerly Scooter) painless! Filled out adoption form, met kitty, had home inspected and in a couple days he was mine. Would have had him sooner but was not completely ready. I would not hesitate to adopt from them again!

I had the amazing opportunity to work with Brigette and help DART as they get started. This experience was one of the most amazing things I have ever done. Brigette is an amazing person, with so much passion and love for animals. Working for her and seeing her dreams become a reality was truly special, and I wish that I had been able to spend more time helping out. This rescue is already amazing, and I cannot wait to see how it grows. I truly believe that DART is a special rescue, and I feel so lucky to have been able to be a small part of what will surely become something amazing.
I had such a blast volunteering at DART! While staying at DART we were able to make friends with the cattle we were taking care of on the farm, plant a veggie garden, see a lot of wildlife, build brand new lemur cages, and we even rescued a big happy cat who we named Damian. Brigiette, the founder of DART, is a amazing women! She is so friendly and kind, she also always has a good story to tell. Brigiette really cares not only about her animals but for her people!
