Mission: Drylands Institute has a commitment to advancing knowledge of southwestern North America?s flora, fauna, ethnobiology and the region?s human inhabitants. Our research efforts focus on the Sonoran Desert and selected arid and semi-arid regions of the world. We provide information that supports the conservation of natural and cultural resources such as the preservation of biological diversity including rare breeds of domestic animals and improvement of health and economic welfare of people.
