Dry Creek Conservancy

Programs: Restoration - provided information and support to city of roseville for a successful grant application for saugstedt park stream restoration and for a fish passage proposal at riverside ave. Pipeline. Developed an agreement with city of roseville for 6 volunteer stream maintenance events. Agreement executed august 2017continued work with city of roseville to plan linda creek and secret ravine bank stabilization projects. Continued to support bank stabilization projects on secret ravine in partnership with city of roseville, trout unlimited, and granite bay flycasters. Organized and managed volunteer days in the spring and the fall on secret ravine, miners ravine, dry creek, kaseberg creek, and sierra creek. Continued work with sacramento area flood control agency, placer resource conservation district, and sacramento area creeks council and local government on red sesbania eradication. Continued to work with partners to find a solution to improving fish passage over hemphill dam.

monitoring - organized the fall dry creek watershed salmon spawning survey and coordinated with surveys on several other watersheds. Pursued elimination of contaminated point source discharge with city of roseville and regional water quality board. Continued to photo document erosion, stream flows, fuel load reduction, presence of red sesbania, and vegetation development on planting projects.

education and outreach - developed and submitted naturalist training proposal for funding to roseville community foundation. Grant agreement dated july 1, 2017watershed/lid conference collaborating with stakeholders to deliver march 2018 conference. Planning agenda, venue, publicity, sponsors. Our videographer continued to produce informative pieces that are posted to youtube. The pieces have over 4,000 hits and placer county library has four copies they distribute. Provided booths for public events such as earth day, creek week, and the lincoln salmon festival. Posting events and projects to websites and facebook.

coordination and planning - worked with american river basin stormwater resource planning group on successful proposal to develop a resource plan. Supported planning process with 40 stakeholders. Included in a successful proposal to update american river basin integrated resource water management plan (irwmp). Agreement starts august 2017.
