Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Homeless & Housing, Homeless Shelters

Mission: In the context of relationships, practicing the way of Jesus, we meet spiritual and physical needs of homeless and street-connected youth and young adults. We seek to equip and inspire all involved to relieve suffering, facilitate reconciliation, and free the heart to love. We accomplish this mission through three main areas of focus. Each part applies to everyone involved in the Dry Bones community. Reach We are freely extended beyond our familiar boundaries in order to form relationships that reveal the God-given unsurpassable worth of all involved. We hope to create intersections where people from different walks of life cross paths who would not normally meet; here, everyone belongs. Rescue Within the context of relationships, hope, love, opportunity, and beauty are revealed. Everyone’s faith grows. We all get “saved” in exciting and unexpected ways.) Reconcile The natural response in a rescued life will be the reconciliation of torn and broken aspects of life. As rescue takes place, many will discover new beginnings, experience deeper faith, conquer addictions, reunite with family, and actively experience the beautiful Kingdom of God

Time to live, time to give...
I am a guy who's life has been full of struggles, heartbreaks & self-destructive tendencies. I am nothing particularly special, but I understand something about hardships. I had a tough childhood, without any real guidance. I made a lot of poor choices off the best of my own, limited understanding. Little did I know, my life has positioned me to play a role in walking along side of people who are in need of love & to be shown their unsurpassable worth.
Dry Bones friend's have taught me about how harsh life can be. The tough stories I have heard about lives shattered through abuse, neglect, abandonment & addictions, really puts perspective in life. I have been blessed to see the victories in life of those who have been reached, rescued, reclaimed & reconciled. These victories are nothing short of miraculous!
Along with the good, there are many stories of our friend's lives cut short. This too offers a perspective of urgency on the Dry Bones mission. This is an amazing platform to learn relational sustainability in a healthy, mentoring way.
I believe we all have gifts. Gifts that are desperately needed by our street friend's. Conversations began, information is exchanged and before you know it, you are giving worth to someone who had been discarded. They will also assure you that you are invaluable. All people have value. All people deserve dignity & love. I am not in a position to give financially at this point in my life, but I do have time. The time I give comes back to me ten fold. I look at others differently. I understand myself differently & I see a much different God, one I now understand who holds us all in the palm of His hand.
Offer your time, talents or resources to this wonderful, inspired & necessary ministry...guarantee it will change you as well.
Time to give means a well life you live!
Thank you Dry Bones,
George Zimmerhackel

Dry Bones is a grass roots type non-profit. They do great work with the homeless youth and young adults of Denver, Colorado. They helped me get my ID, but more than that they loved on me and had deep conversations that were non judgmental. They also went to court with me and helped me clear up my legal matters and invited me to their monday night meal. Dry Bones rocks!
