The Drug Policy Alliance has been at the forefront of the drug reform movement for many years. Led by Ethan Nadelmann, DPA has taken a leadership role in promoting laws and initiatives and nurturing nascent drug reform organizations

I've been an active supportor of the Drug Policy Alliance for several years. They have great, well informed, devoted and active leadership. They continue to provide good results in this slow and difficult to change area. They are working hard to end the failed old war on drugs. Both sides of this insane war are supported by American citizens, and it also has devastating effects on Mexico. The DPA is working to refocus government resources from costly ineffective incarceration, to helping those individuals who need it. I highly commend their good efforts.

Writers In Treatment, a CA 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (tax ID#26-3550390) was awarded a grant from Drug Policy Alliance that enabled us to produce the June 17, 2011 event "40 Years Of Injustice," a community panel and discussion forum commemorating the 40th anniversary of Nixon's War on Drugs.
Writers In Treatment endorses DPA's work highly. We look forward to collaborating on future events to focus public awareness on cruel and ineffective drug laws, with the goal of promoting treatment instead of incarceration.

I have been a supporter of the Drug Policy Alliance for over 15 years. There are many fine organizations working to end our misguided war on drugs and replace it with more effecive, medically sound and humane policies, but I consider DPA to be the leader. DPA has set priorities that appeal to a broad range of supporters and has a proven track record of facilitating real and meaningful change. I have had the pleasure of meeting DPA's Executive Director, Ethan Nadelmann, and can tell you that no one else I know brings more knowledge, experience, passion and vision to the table on this issue. I am proud to be a DPA supporter and highly recommend this organization to all who care about drug policy reform.

DPA has made strides to include low-income, women, and people of color in efforts to change drug policy. This is vital since the mentioned groups suffer the most over the past 40 years. The war on drugs has done more harm than good. DPA is one of the forrunners trying to end this war and bring about equity.
I support DPA and their on going efforts to change a devistating wrong, by instituting a racially equitable right.

"The Drug Policy Alliance" is leading the movement for sane and humane drug policy. Our non-profit organization, A New PATH (Parents for Addiction Treatment & Healing" is proud to partner with DPA in efforts to create therapeutic, rather than punitive drug policies, and to end the violence, mass incarceration and overdose deaths that are a result of the War on Drugs."

I have been a donor and activist for Drug Policy Alliance for many years, having found them to be the most comprehensive umbrella for education and advocacy for implementation of rational policies to end the "War on Drugs". Because DPA is not "substance specific", its work touches all areas of policy impact including fiscal, civil rights, criminal-justice, harm reduction, public health and political. Consequently, donors and advocates with diverse interests in changing drug policy have found in DPA an impactful and coordinated base of support and direction toward advancing the debate. DPA and its staff offer a depth of knowledge, experience and drive that no other single organization involved in drug policy can offer.
