I came to San Antonio a few years ago, for an all positive "total life change". I knew and know what I want, "for the most part", yet I didn't know the "HOW TO" in getting things going rightly. It was and is such a blessing to find that I could become a part of D.F.S.S.A. so easily and quickly. By God's grace, over the past two years the staff and volunteers at D.F.S. have helped me to understand some of the missing "how tos" I need to continue (and in some areas "start") making forward progress in the fulfilling of goals and purposes in my life.
The PEOPLE, the speakers, the classes and programs, fittings...EVERYTHING that D.F.S. offers to assist in INDIVIDUAL personal and professional development is so worth the time and effort to get there and participate for the kind positive changes that I/one would want for oneself and others . Before you know it, it spills over for/to others as you can't help being happy for others and become more involve in giving back when and where you can. Great relationships can also develop in the interactions and processes.
I'm loving my experiences with and through D.F.S.S.A., and I'm looking forward to seeing how things continue to unfold and What's Next.
My name is Linda. Dress for Success was a great help to me at a time in my life when I lost pretty much everything. The staff was always kind, compassionate and professional. They never make me feel I was homeless but accepted me as a unique individual created by God. They have great resources available to assist with finding a job, preparing your resume etc. I used their computers frequently when I was looking for a job. They gave me clothes to wear for my job interviews. They offer many training classes from make up tips to planning a budget. Overall, their love and compassion towards me was and still is remarkable and greatly appreciated.

I was a recent college graduate and unemployed. I was also transitioning to a new career. I received support from staff, got nice professional attire, and received help transitioning from unemployed to employed.
Dress for Success San Antonio helps women educate themselves and gain the job skills necessary to make them more employable. The suits, accessories, and shoes that you donate to them go directly to the candidates of the Dress for Success program. After presenting a class to candidates, I had the pleasure of watching them "shop" for their interview suits. Just think - a suit that had been collecting dust in someone's closet was now going to help one of these ladies make a good first impression. If you cannot take your professional attire directly to their location in Wonderland Mall of the Americas, you can drop off your donations at any Five Star Cleaners, and they will dry clean your donations for free.
