As a Teacher, I love the support Dream in Green gives me as an educator. The materials they provide helps me teach elementary school children about saving energy and reducing our carbon dioxide consumption.
I work at South Miami K-8 Center. Dream in Green was great! They gave us lots of resources to help encourage our school to go green. They made sure that we understood how to plan and follow through on our going green timeline. They had a beginning of the year training and I enjoyed it very much -- it was so informative.
The personnel who work for Dream in Green have always acted sincere and professional. Any time I needed help, they were there for me.
I hope to work with them every school year.
The Green Schools Challenge program involves students and staff directly in designing and implementing environmental and energy solutions at their schools. The Green Schools Challenge helps local schools save money by reducing their overall energy consumption through student-led conservation initiatives. While conserving energy at their schools, students learn important lessons about environmental sustainability, which are later applied at home and in the community. During the upcoming 2010-2011 school year, Dream in Green seeks to make the Green Schools Challenge program available to all schools in Miami-Dade County and also expand our Broward County pilot program.
Dream in Greens provides my school with the resources needed to educate our students, staff members and community about current environmental issues that are affecting the world. The resources have helped the school raise awareness to environmental problems. Because of Dream in Green in 2008 our enrolled in the Green Schools Challenge and established The BTE Green Team made up of students and staff members that educate our community by providing them with information on events and activities at the schools and in the community that promote green living.
