I stayed at the Dream Center Peoria, IL & they say they make miracles happen highly doubtful, Several incidents while I stayed there the 1st incident the day I walked in there to stay the 1st night spoke to a woman about staying there didn't show me anything just made me fill out this paper (intake form), she did show me the kitchen that's it, the same day this woman I choose to keep anonymous was telling all of us in our dorm(room staff called a dorm), well anyway this woman was telling all about her past job with the government but new shelter director Juan said she had dementia but for someone who sure dementia sure knew a lot about that place Juan says was not factual but upon further conversations with people that knew the Dream Center told me all about the same thing she said the place is infested with bed bugs, drugs, prostitution, & that's not all they make you eat with your hands & drink out of a bowl like a dog, The 2nd day there was another woman who said one of the guards sexually harassed her & again Juan said this was false upon further investigation it was accurate, that Juan swore was false, & threatened to sue her for slander but it was not slander this woman told the truth because I had doubts because of Juan's attitude & I investigated it myself & turned them into the FBI to one of my US Marshall friends because it just didn't sit well with me buy Juan's blunt denial of the incident, if you access Facebook on your phone they monitor it & if you tell something about them they delete the post, & they kick you out for it one of the girls that stayed @ The Dream Center accessed her Facebook page & wrote a review about the Dream Center & they kicked her out for a month. I posted about them & immediately got told about it 3 times one from Juan, One from the Shelter Director & 1 from the staff of Dream Center acting as though it was the worst thing I could've done by posting a review on Facebook. Mind you everything that was posted was factual.

Causes: Human Services
Mission: To impact families in poverty, starting with children and youth.
Results: Dream Center Peoria provided 70,000 meals to underserved individuals and families on and off location in 2020. On a given night, we house 60-100 homeless guests while providing meals, hot showers, as well as counseling and case management services. Our community outreach arm passed out 2,000 backpacks to at-risk youth during our annual Backpack Peoria event. DCP Students enrolled 82 students into our after-school and took part in a multitude of student program services.

Programs: DCP Students- Our flagship youth after-school program offers at-risk youth a safe and stable environment to access tutoring, mentoring, vocational training, and life-skills assistance. DCP Housing- Our shelter provides emergency housing to women and families facing homelessness. Shelter staff process their information and assigns our guest's case managers. Our shelter is the only 24/7 emergency housing unit in the area. DCP Cares- Our community outreach arm that provides the public an opportunity to serve marginalized communities. The Hope Store, a facet of DCP Cares, is a free-of-cost donation center that offers clothing and household items. DCP Mobile- Our innovative mobile outreach program that targets low-income areas and local houseless populations by bringing hot meals, showers, and haircuts to them via mobile trucks.
