I live in Hawaii and I went to visit their program in Oxnard . I was totally blown away by the enthusiasm And appreciation that the Students have for the DRAGG program and especially the respect and admiration the students have for the Police Officers involved in the program and the founders . These kids live’s are literally being saved with DRAGG and it is also creating a much needed bond between the community and their local law enforcement officers . We are hoping to start a DRAGG program soon in Hawaii .
Commercial Auto Body (cab) has been with the program since day one we had been very fortunate to be part every growing moment of the program . Since 2011 we had seen hundreds of young men and women go into the workforce with a full preparation to be successful in life and to live a better lifestyle. This one of the many reasons we had Joined DRAGG
My oldest son was in the dragg program a few years ago. He really liked the class because he learned about cars with people who care about him. The police teacher still keeps in touch with him and they call to see what he is doing and if they can help. We see the DRAGG cars around and my son still talks about the program. Regular school or college isn't for everyone but that doesnt mean kids don't want to learn or wont be successful if they do other things. My son graduated, is taking college classes, has a good job, and is doing fine for himself. Thank you.
DRAGG is such an awesome program that does so much for the local students in the local communities. I am a student at the local university CSUCI I have always had an interest in mechanics and this semester I am interning here at DRAGG. Everything from the program mission to the automotive lessons that are taught are here I have seen lots of learning take here. Good mentorship is important for young people and this program provides a great way to teach automotive skills to highschool kids. I have seen firsthand how students in this program have been inspired to peruse a career in the automotive field because they are inspired by the DRAGG program.
I've worked with the program for 5 years now. I help recruit students for the program each semester. I've listened to students sharing their experiences with program and it has always been a positive. They help students gain knowledge in an industry that has and always will create opportunities for success. The students learn amazing leadership skills.
I initially worked with DRAGG Inc several years ago in supporting career technical education throughout the county and continue to volunteer when I can. They are so much more than an automotive after school program for kids. Students learn about the varying aspects within the automotive industry in combination with work-based essential soft skills from industry and business professionals. DRAGG also engages students in community service by participating in local events like parades, festivals, and car cruises.
What stands out to me is that DRAGG truly creates opportunities based the Interests of their students. I remember a student wanted to know more about being a firefighter, so Sergeant Shrubb arranged for the local fire department to come by and give a presentation about the equipment and what it takes to join a department. This is what DRAGG does and continues to do to meet kids where they are. DRAGG is constantly evolving and networking to provide opportunities for students who would otherwise never have the chance.
DRAGG Inc.'s years of service to the community and impact of hundreds of local students speaks volumes of who they are and what they stand for. At the heart of this program and what makes it Oxnard's beloved, is that DRAGG is in the business of connecting with students through automotive education and mentoring a brighter future for years to come.
I've been with DRAGG since 2018 and it has been an awesome experience to see how such a program can impact a young person's life. I believe in the program so much that I have brought in family to help where needed. They enjoy every minute of it even when it's something as simple as cleaning our shop. This is a great non-profit that not only helps guide young adults but creates positive productive people in our community.
I have been working with DRAGG since September of 2019. Having had my entire career based in the nonprofit sector, I can easily see how wonderful an organization this is. DRAGG's mission is first and foremost about student success. Students from Oxnard and Ventura County gather each week and become a team, a family, and a community.
Their shared enthusiasm livens our facility and gives every adult hope for the future. The work being done to guide and mentor the youth of our community is exceptional. Please take the time to get to know the staff, leadership, and supporters of this genuine and sincere organization.
I have been involved with the DRAGG program since its inception, and I have personally witnessed many students become responsible adults with ambition to be whatever they want in this world, while being their best to be productive young people in our communities. DRAGG's simple concept of showing interest in young lives, mentorships, and genuine guidance continues to work, and has made a significant impact with our students over many years. Thank you DRAGG, and to many more years to come...
Dragg team is absolutely amazing! The opportunities that they provide for the youth is a great step towards a brighter future. Genuinely wish I had a program like this back home in Texas when I was in high school. The presence they serve within the community is awesome!
This after school automotive program has a profound impact on the male and female youth who participate in it. I have had the pleasure of meeting youth who participated in this program both recently and from several years ago and they will consistently tell you how much they learned and appreciated the mentorship that they received while in the program. The DRAGG program believes that investing in the youth’s lives today will greatly assist them in their future. There have been many success stories over the years and I am looking forward to hearing many more.
