Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Christianity, Religion
Mission: Downline Ministries exists to encourage a restoration of biblical discipleship in and through the local church by strategically partnering with church leadership to equip men and women to make disciples in their home, church, and community for the glory of God and exaltation of Christ among the nations.
Programs: Academic training in disciple-making: over 180 men and women graduated from our nine-month discipleship training experience, receiving over 150 hours of practical training in discipleship, the grand narrative of scripture, and bibical manhood and womanhood, from teachers from memphis, tn and across the country. Sixty of the 180 students in our institute were members of our emerging leaders program. These recent college graduates were selected through a lengthy interview process, and moved to memphis from all over the country. They studied, trained, worked, and volunteered across our great city, and at the end of the year almost 80% stayed, making memphis their home and contribuing to its growth. The downline institute online also enjoyed continued growth.
discipleship training by engaging in mission trips: we sent students and some of our over 1400 alumni on over 22 short-term mission trips worldwide.
engaging the community by holding men's and women's leadership conferences: nearly 2,000 men and women gathered for our summit series. Teachers this year included randy pope, jim putnum, robert coleman, crawford lorrits, tara leigh cobble, ernie frey, john bryson, kennon vaughn, ariyana rimson, karin conlee, and more. These were powerful weekends spent exploring the life, mission, and ministry of jesus christ and how we can better prepare for and practice a great commission lifestyle for a lifetime.
