Mission: The Down Syndrome Partnership of Tarrant County benefits the lives of people with Down syndrome and their families by providing information, social and educational activities and support designed to help achieve the universally desired goals of self-fulfillment, pride in one’s achievements and acceptance and inclusion in the community.
Programs: As of december 2014, dsptc's partnership directory included approximately 600 individuals with down syndrome, representing about 1,200 people, including family members, and approximately 250 professionals. Dsptc held social events allowing families the opportunity to interact and meet in an informal setting.
co-hosted seminars and speakers throughout 2014 on topics related to raising children with down syndrome. Approximately 625 parents, professionals, self-advocates and family members attended.
published and mailed monthly newsletters to inform members of local resources available, upcoming events and other pertinent information. More than 4,000 newsletters were mailed to homes and professionals. In addition, dsptc produces a monthly electronic newsletter, distributing it to over 6,000 readers annually.
other program services include "lose the training wheels" camp and miscellaneous support services.
