The Down Syndrome Association of South Texas is a great organization for members of the local public who have Down syndrome or know someone who has Down syndrome. The DSASTX provides many activities that enrich the lives of those members and their families.

I've personally donated to this organization and I know a current board member. I've also met many of the staff and other board members as well as many of the participants in the various events that the Down Syndrome Association of South Texas hosts throughout the year.

My favorite events are the annual BuddyWalk, usually hosted at the Heroes Stadium, and the Holiday Party. I attended last year's Holiday Party in late-2014 that was hosted at Valero's HQ by UTSA. It was a blast full of fun, music, and lots of dancing!

The Down Syndrome Association of South Texas (DSASTX) is a great local organization. The organization and all of its participants, from self-advocates, parents & families, volunteers, staff, and board members, go over and beyond to enrich the lives of individuals in the local community who have Down syndrome.

The organization coordinates and assists with many participating families in providing various activities and events from regular engagements to annual festive get-togethers including organizing the local version of the national BuddyWalk initiative. All of these activities help empower and relay the enthusiasm and momentum of Down syndrome awareness, advocacy, and outreach.

If you know someone who has Down syndrome and he or she or their family would be interested in participating, please contact the organization on its website and let them know!
