When my mother was sick with cancer she was unable to work and had a very limited source of income. I lived at home with my brother at this time to help take care of her and house. There came a point where we were unable to pay the utility bills and Doorstep help us out. We were able to keep keep everything going and get ahead of the bills again. Their small donation mad a world of difference to me and my family because nobody else could help us. I had never heard of them before that time, but i will never forget them.
Now whenever I have anything I can donate (usually clothes and food) I always split it between them and the rescue mission in town.
