Mission: The nature of the activities to be conducted or the purposes of the corporation are to engage in any lawful act or activity permitted under the connecticut revised nonstock corporation act, title 33, chapter 602, of the general statutes of connecticut (the "act"), which is charitable, religious, educational and/or scientific in nature, entitling the corporation to exemption from taxation under 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code of 1986, as the same may be amended and in force from time to time (the "code"), and more particularly: i. To solicit vehicle donations from the general public and other commercial enterprises for the purposes of providing certain proceeds of the sales of such vehicles to other charitable organizations recognized under 501(c)(3) of the code; ii. To provide grants to certain qualified recipients and/or organizations for the purposes of educating and providing vocational training to members of the general public; and iii. Programs: Donate cars 4 wishes is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit car donation program established to benefit local vocational education programs as well as the make-a-wish connecticut. Make-a-wish connecticut has granted over 2,500 wishes since its inception with the cost of a wish in connecticut averaging about 10,000. The vehicles received are either auctioned to new owners or recycled. The proceeds from all sales remain in connecticut to benefit the make-a-wish connecticut chapter and local vocational training.
