Mission: Dogs In Need Organization is an independent No-Kill, 100% volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue group based in Orange County, California. We were founded to help homeless, neglected, orphaned, special needs, abandoned, and abused animals. When space allows, those that are running at large and owner surrenders. Our goal is to decrease the number of animals being euthanized in animal shelters or dying alone on the city streets. We do this by taking them into our homes and caring for them until we can find loving permanent homes for them.
We ensure all animals in our care are current on vaccinations, have general parasite treatment, are spayed/neutered and Micro chipped before going to their new home.
Our vision is that every companion animal born will be welcomed into a responsible, loving home where a lifetime commitment is made to their welfare. Until the pet population is under control there will be homeless animals that need medical care, food, shelter and most of all caring, loving homes.
We strongly support and work with other groups in all animal welfare efforts.
Target demographics: rescue, rehabilitate and adopt dogs who are at risk of euthanasia from High-Kill Shelters throughout Southern CA
Geographic areas served: Southern California
Programs: We help people with pet-related problems, promote responsible pet-ownership and pet population control by creating public awareness of our cause through education and community networking.
We adopted Rosie a silky haired terrier from Dogs in Need in Laguna Hills. She only weighs 7 lbs. We have spoiled her by letting her sleep with us, dressing her in the finest (got 3 outfits for Easter--probably more than you got.)
One of the best parts is that we have taken 3 trips and Sue is more than happy to take her back to her home. She also made arrangements for her to have her teeth cleaned while she was watching her. She also spoils her, letting her sleep in her bed, sitting with her as she eats with her bowl of food on the sofa so she is able to stay away from the other big dogs.
If you choose to adopt a dog from Dogs in Need in Laguna Hills, you will not be sorry.
Thanks for allowing me to tell you about our love for Rosie and Dogs in Need.
