April 15, 2023
After talking to Chris Theodore, Nancy Unsold, and Cindy (FaceTime), on February 20, 2023, we (Bob and I) received an approval to adopt. On February 21 we had a conversation with Gwenn Bamer-Flynn. In this conversation, we discussed what would be best for the adoptee. Evidently at that point in our conversation, Gwenn made a judgment call that we were not suitable to adopt. Without sharing her concerns with us regarding our conversation, the board decided to pull our adoption agreement.
We, our family, had no knowledge of the denial until I reached out to Chris on Tuesday, April 11. Unfortunately, for Chris T, she texted me and told me we were denied. I called her right away, trying to get an explanation. Needless to say, I was blindsided. Then I called Gwenn, no response. On Wednesday. I get the notice from Gail Willis “our board has received additional information and have made the decision that we are not able to adopt a dog to you”. additional information as well as the lack of notification has shattered my heart. What was the additional information and why wasn’t I able to clarify any misunderstanding.
A little history, on March 3. I contacted Gwenn through texting and told her how impressed I was with her organization and if she had a chance to keep me updated on PixZee. (Sidebar – I made a donation to PixZee care). No response! On April 10, I emailed Gwen and told her that we were interested in Guinness again no response.
The love, care, and respect your organization has for the Doberman breed is unparalleled, I wish you had the same respect for your adoptees. Maybe someone on the board could help clear this matter. Then I will be able to put the pieces back of my shattered heart.
Sincerely,
Sara and Bob.
