Mission: Doberman pinscher rescue exists solely to rescue, rehabilitate, care for and place into loving homes the doberman pinscher and other canine breeds that have been abandoned, abused, lost, or found in other unfortunate circumstances. Dogs that are not adoptable due to advanced age, challenging behavior, medical, or other issues are given a permanent home in the organization's sanctuary property in daggett, california.
Programs: The organization rescues 250 to 500 dogs each year. To date, the organization has rescued more than 9,000 dogs. The dogs are acquired or rescued from other rescue agencies, shelters, natural disasters,or directly from abusive situations. They are sometimes picked up from alongside a highway. The dogs are provided with immediate veterinary care when needed and are fed, housed, and cared for by the organization until they can be placed into loving homes. Dogs who cannot be placed due to advanced age, behavioral, medical, or other issues are given a lifetime home in the organization's sanctuary. The organization's executive director volunteers her time, leadership, and fundraising talents to the organization. Many individuals also volunteer their time and talent to the organization's operations and to the care and exercising/walking of the dogs.
Max was my first doberman and he came from this rescue in 1994. I have adopted two more dogs from them. Lorenzo in 2016 and now Sienna last October, 2021. They are an amazing organization in terms of their commitment to the dogs, facilities and expert placement skills. If you are honest with them about your needs, I guarantee they will find the right dog for you. Sienna wasn't even on my list of dogs to look at, but she fit in perfectly from day one. We can't imagine being without her now. I hope you will help them continue their good work.
