Our son, Brandon, received therapies at DLC after he came home from a six month stay in the NICU after being born prematurely weighing just 1 pound 4 ounces. They taught me how to teach Brandon everything from turning his head to walking. It wasn't just therapy for him, they walked our whole family through this journey loving all of us and celebrating every step of the way with us. When he was nearly three, they noticed signs of autism and sent us to the right people for help. They are a valuable resource in our community and the only place I would send a special needs family. Today Brandon is successful because of his start at DLC.

Our youth group volunteered with DLC one summer day & we are returning this summer to volunteer. I am an ESE Paraprofessional for DCPS, I work one on one with a young man with Down Syndrome & see a lot in my field. My experience with DLC as a volunteer, was amazing. These kids thrive here & the love & support given to them & their families is amazing. I would highly recommend this program to any family in need. It is an amazing program & the most caring staff!!

Our son attended DLC's VPK program. He had a wonderful experience!! Teachers and staff love what they do and care deeply for the students. My husband and I loved volunteerING as much as we could. This school provides an invaluable service to our community and deserve all the support they can get.

As a great-grandparent picking up my great-grandson in the afternoons, here is what I can tell you. I come at random times and I have never have had an unpleasant experience. He is always freshly diapered before I take him home and his cup is always filled with a fresh beverage-usually milk. His caregivers are always happy and they always tell him goodbye by name when we leave. It is obvious that he is loved and well cared for while he is there.

My daughter is in the youngest class at DLC. When she started a few months ago, it was her first time being cared for by anyone other than family. She struggled some with the transition, and her teachers handled it wonderfully. They showed her so much love and patience as she got accustomed to being there. I appreciate how warm and loving they are!

Thankful a family friend refered us to DLC. The teachers, assistance, nurses and therapist are so amazing, sweet and kind to all the children. They give them so much love. I’ve been apart of the DLC team for 7 years now and they have been the best years of my life! Getting to see all of the children grow throughout the years have been a blessing! We have a great set of staff members that love each and everyone of the students like their own! What an amazing organization to be part of!

My son first started attending DLC when he was just 1 and a half. He has spina bifida and could only drag himself on his belly to get around. With help from the teachers and therapists he was soon up on his knees, then using crutches and a walker, then after a lot of work, walking with no support! They also helped him learn to eat food with more texture, helped him grow socially, and surrounded him with love every day. They even visited him in the hospital.
He has now moved on to mainstream kindergarten, but my family will love and support DLC forever.

LOVE this school and the people who make the school great!! My son attended DLC for only a few months while we were in country but he grew in leaps and bounds while there. The program is enriching, the staff knowledgable and loving, and they work with your special needs and situation with gusto. God bless these people and the work they do for our children.

I love this school for its mission of helping not only the students (5-Star rated) but also the parents and employees. The hard work at fundraising goes towards scholarships, therapies and nursing services. Congratulations to DLC for 30 years of being a top-rated preschool.

DLC is a wonderful program for kids with special needs, and those without. Their highly trained and qualified staff look out for developmental delays, as well as teach a full age appropriate curriculum. They have certified nurses and therapists available during the week, as well as offering counseling to family members. This is truly a wonderful program for children!

This Daycare/Afterschool facility is geared toward Special Needs children/teens. They have Therapists on staff to attend to the children's therapies needed which is convenient, and a nurse on staff to take care of the medical needs.
