Mission: To promote the elimination of domestic violence in the district of columbia, to engage in activities on behalf of victims of domestic violence and their families, and to encourage the victims of domestic violence to utilize other available services.
Programs: Vaf - enhancing the district's response to domestic violence project- educated coalition members, stakeholders, government agencies and policy makers on domestic violence. Conducted research, analysis, and assessment of policy and legislative initiatives impacting victims of domestic violence. Built the capacity of domestic violence services providers, law enforcement and first responders through technical assistance, and provided broad-based outreach efforts that promote awareness of domestic violence
doj transitional housing program provided housing subsidies to survivors who are deaf and/or hard of hearing and africanamerican survivors who are addicted to drugs and alcohol. The program improved the response to the needs of domestic violence survivors for transitional housing in dc and provided individualized, continuous case management for up to 24 months and up to 3 months exit services after departing the program.
dhhs statewide coalition - provided information on domestic violence tothe community, technical assistance and training to professionals,and advocacy of public policies which will abate domestic violenceand aid victims.
