Mission: The mission of the discovery science center of orange county is to develop and operate a hands-on educational center that will inspire and engage orange county students,residents,and visitor's with science and math. Dscoc's goals are to educate young minds, assist educators in teaching science in an increasingly compelling manner, and increase public understanding and appreciation of science, math and technology through interactive exhibits and programs. There are over 120 interactive exhibits, demonstrations, and science shows in dscoc's 110,000 square foot facility. Each year,dscoc welcomes over 542,000 visitors, of which 64,000 are school children on field trips. An additional 351,000 children receive outreach programs at their schools. Of the 415,000 total students, over 60% participate in these educational programs for free of charge to the children. education outreach - our goal is to complement elementary curriculum with hands on instruction in science and inspire children to pursue further education in science. The education department serves over 208,000 children in the orange county, riverside, san bernadino and los angeles areas.
