Mission: Discover life in america will develop a model for research in biodiversity. Dlia will use this knowledge to develop and disseminate information to encourage the discovery, understanding, preservation, and enjoyment of natural resources.
Programs: Conducting a biodiversity research project in the great smoky mountains national park aimed at identifying and cataloging all species of life in the park including atbi web database and biodiversity boxes.
In 2013, DLIA will be celebrating 15 years of cataloging the tremendous biodiversity in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park! Why do this? Well, unless we know what is there now, we might not notice that something is becoming rarer and rarer, or has even disappeared completely! So the Inventory helps us target species we need to focus on for our conservation efforts. Come join us next March for our conference. (See http://www.dlia.org/newssave-date-conference-2013)
