I am currently a seasonal team lead Public Relations Intern and it has been a really great experience to work with a team of people passionate about digital wellbeing. Everyone has been lovely to work with and it is a great way to gain internship experience as a college student. I have really enjoyed my time with Digital4Good so far and seeing/being apart of all the amazing changes that have been made and continue to be made!
My internship at Digital4Good was an incredibly educational and rewarding experience. During my time with the organization, I had the opportunity to write numerous articles that not only honed my writing skills but also exposed me to new and insightful information. Each piece I worked on deepened my understanding of important topics, pushing me to think critically and creatively.
The supportive team at Digital4Good provided guidance and encouragement, which allowed me to grow both professionally and personally. I gained valuable experience in research, content creation, and communication—skills that I will carry forward in my career.
I am beyond grateful for Kim and Janiyah's guidance throughout my internship thus far. I joined in August with little to no experience in Public Relations and with it currently being December, I've learned so much! Gaining knowledge in how to send a press release, how to write one, getting creative with blog writing, and working in a team has increased my confidence in pursuing a PR career. I was a seasonal PR intern with D4G during the pandemic and greatly enjoyed my time working with the PR team. As the internship was fully remote, the regular meetings and work parties were helpful in making me feel more connected with my teammates. I gained experience not just with PR projects (creating articles/press releases, finding press contacts), but was also able to branch out into grant writing. Great internship experience overall.
The thing that I love about this non-profit is professionals are working right along students for solutions. Students volunteer and support digital4good and help to make the online world a better place.
I joined Digital4Good + #ICANHELP about two months ago. So far, as a Digital Media Specialist, it has been such a fantastic experience! I have never been in an internship where everyone, the community, the mentors, and the other interns are so positive and so passionate about our mission. I don't really have anything to complain about and I don't even feel like I'm being forced to do the work because it aligns with my passion for digital safety and wellness. I worked with Digital4 Good x ICanHelp from January - June of 2024 as a seasonal video production intern. This was my first internship ever and I was nervous about what to expect and if it would be a right fit for me. Fortunately, the Digital4Good team was very including, generous, and helpful which made my experience all the more easy and enjoyable! I got to work with amazing people and created videos and projects that were actually showcased and appreciated! Seeing my work in such a light and shown for such a great cause is truly heartwarming! When I discovered Digital4Good's social media page, I was immediately drawn to the strong community of empowering people involved within the organization. Since partaking in Digital4Good, I have been able to attend student webinars, where I have had the opportunity to interact with student leaders from across the country who have used their platforms for good!
What I love most about the video productions team is that specialists are able to test their creativity, while spreading messages that benefit the general public. Overall, every intern, lead intern, and mentor is a supportive group of people who are willing to help you every step of the way.

Digital4Good and #icanhelp have truly changed my life in ways I never expected. When I first got involved with #icanhelp, I was going through my own personal struggles, dealing with traumas, grief, and various anxieties. Being involved in other like minded organizations led me to #icanhelp and the rest is history. The mentors and friends I met through this organization provided me with an incredible support system and a true sense of belonging. It was not about fitting in, but rather finding people who understood and accepted me for who I am.

As the Creative Director for Digital4Good, I am truly blown away by the talents and work of our Student Interns and Specialists. Did you know that we are truly a Student-led, Student-run organization? Yup! We focus on Digital Citizenship, Safety, Wellness, and Literacy in classrooms across the nation (and some International ones too!). We create resources for educators, parents, and school staff on how to keep their students safe when it comes to online and social media use.
The content created by the various teams; blogs, videos, social media posts, resources, trainings, etc. is literally created from the student perspective with a student voice. Our student staff has helped THOUSANDS of students with their mental health and how to respond to cyberbullying attacks online, and we have the data to back it up!
Having served as an intern for only a month, I've already seen testaments to this nonprofit's determination to serve individuals across the world. The resources that #ICANHELP x Digital4Good puts out are invaluable to the individuals who can find it. I would firmly recommend anyone to this organization.
As a student intern for some weeks now, I can definitely say that this non-profit is driven by passionate leaders that inspire change among the youth and myself. As the Curriculum Development Intern, Digital4Good has given me the opportunity to change how students interact with social media and the online world. Working here has provided me a new perspective on how students use media in their everyday lives. Being given creative freedom under close supervision allows me to grow and learn more as I work.
